Eric Clapton = Rockstar x Cookies n Cream

As late as this is I figured I would start a journal for my current grow, especially after building a QB light fixture with the help of some of the fellow RIU members. @Rocket Soul

the genetics are as stated in the title. A buddy’s Rockstar mother hooked up with another buddy’s male cookies n cream by accident and I walk away with 100 seeds. I came up with Eric Clapton due to the fact that he was a rockstar, lead singer of Cream and creams drummer was named Ginger Baker (baker of gingerbread cookies)

For nutes I’m running advanced 3 part, b52, big bud, calimagic, epsom salt and blackstrap





They were popped under a T5 then moved to a 240w 4000k China QB set up dimmed to about 75%. I popped 10 Eric’s and a bag seed from a buddy of some top notch Thin mints. Ended up with 5 females and 6 males (including thin mints). Tossed the dudes, gave a female to buddy for clones and threw them into flower. 5 days into flower what looked like elongated pre flowers turned into dirty balls on one of the plants. So the total is three plants, half ass scrogged a under a 6 board set up running currently at 500w

Looking real good in for the ride.

Just a quick update, day 11 of flower. Pictures taken 10 mins after lights on. Everything’s been going great, no deficiencies of any kind to be seen. Outer boards are at 90w each, inner boards are at 80w each, totalling 520w. I plan to raise the outers to 105w a piece and inners at 95w a piece over the next 2 weeks to end with 600w. If the plants keep taking it I may give more but I doubt it.

Minimal stretch so far and solid bud formation. I’m really looking forward to see these at week 8, I’m also really curious as to what traits will stand out stronger than others since this cross is unknown to me. I’ll update again in a few days.

Jesus fuck, woke up today to an tent air temp of 97f and 70% humidity. The apartment I’m in has a locked control box for the building temp and due to it being -30 outside today the furnace just kept going none stop overnight. I’ve blocked the air vent to the room for the time being but it looks like I’m ordering a lock pic set on amazon as well lol.

Day 17 of Flower

Currently feeding about 1000 ppm, they’re keeping it moving. Starting to see trichomes on the mains and lowers. No complaints so far! I raised the lights to 20” and upped the wattage to 620w. Pretty confident I’ll be leaving it here and letting the plants do their thing from this point out but I also said that before as well haha. To be continued.

I’m keeping an eye on the plant on the left, slight paling. I’m wondering if that really hot night played any part of it. It’s always been the heavier drinker. Time will tell.

Day 21 update

Unfortunately the plant on the left isn’t picking up as quickly as I thought. I flushed with ph’ed water after noticing high ppm in my run off.

Edit* - after talking with a buddy who grows with QB’s and explaining my situation, I think this may be my first LED uh oh. Before this pic I had my lights quite close, like 10 inches close. A busy week and an even busier weekend had me on auto pilot and not paying attention. I’ve raised the lights to 20”. We’ll see how she goes.


The other two plants are in full swing, no issues. One of them (back right in pic) is a tank with big buds. Insanely sticky too, I did some strategic defol and my finger tips were sticking together from touching the big fan leaves alone.

Mmhmmmm, found a couple of these hanging around when the lights came on. Something’s a foot, this one plant is being the problem child.



The discoloured leaves seems to only be within the first 6-8 inches of the colas. No bugs, checked everything, Areas partially blocked or lower down seem unaffected. I’ve flushed the plant with about 20L of water ph to 6.2 (plants in promix hp). Reduced additives and fed at 800 ppm



Any thoughts?

Well it seems that the flush helped a bit as new growth looks a healthy green. Well have to see what happens with her. The other two are stacking nicely. The pale plant is still growing strong just not showing the funk or stickywiss yet.

Day 34 Update

Two of the plants are coming along really nicely, extremely frosty and smells deeeeelish. Lemon and mango peels, draped gently over a skunks anus. Wonderbar.

One plant looks like a Los Angeles street person though. It definitely has something locked out. Ph of run off is 6.1. ppm’s are way too high though. Gunna do another ph’ed flush but double the amount of water in hopes to align the root zone with proper uptake.

Day 41 Update

The one bitchy plant is still giving problems, but she’s still putting on weight. The other two however are doing fucking great, one being a beauty pheno. With her buds and stalk being 10-15% bigger than her sister. Plus she’s throwing off some wicked purple! I took a cutting to try and re-veg it as I fucked up and didn’t take any cuttings before flower. Psssh stoner

They’re still putting on weight, trichomes still mostly clear but some are fully clouded.
