Equatorial Outdoor Grow Help!

Beautiful soil, beautiful sun almost all day almost every day. Nice fresh air. Sounds like a good chance for outgrow growing !!

But what I do not understand is - normally - 'skunk' seeds (from Amsterdam seed banks) - only flower when the day becomes shorter right? Or if indoor, when you start changing the lights timing.

But on the equator the day is always 6:30 am to 6:30 pm :?

When will the plant begin flowering or do you have to 'induce' flowering some how?

Not started growing yet but have pleeeeenty of land to try :mrgreen:. Just want to get some of these questions out of the way.

Also just for fun so I can test here is a photo of bud I have to BUY at present :( TOO MUCH MONEY NEED ! Need to grow with my lovely soil.

From a little research I have found information to say that plants under 12 hours of light will flower naturally. If you think about it, there is no reason why the plants would not grow from seed under 12 hours light and at some point they will be mature enough to flower. As 12 hours light/dark is required for flowering, they should at some point flower. If however you lived somewhere where the nights were 18 hours long, I assume they would never flower.

It would be interesting to hear from someone who has tried it.
 
Oh that information also said it would be about 2.5-3 months before they flower in case you were wondering.

You're really lucky to be able to grow on the equator - perfect place for it. Your best bet would be to veg the plants indoors until they're ready for flowering and then simply transplant them to outdoors and watch them start flowering in that lovely equatorial sun.

If you do it right, with a good pure Sativa strain you could get some exceptional buds.

Unfortunately, and indoor/outdoor combination is out of the question for me.

It will be interesting to see how these 'chronic' seeds (engineered by man) will react to perfect growing conditions (engineered by nature) + plus a bit of water + goodness ;)

Unfortunately this is only happening in August when I move to said location. The only bud you get there is dirty outdoor shwag full of stems + seeds! And no other supply at all!! :evil:
 
Sounds like you may be headed for Indonesia.

If you are mate you better watch your back because over there they love nothing more than to string you up by your balls whilst chopping either your head or hands off unlesss you pay a kings ransom so as they can deport your ass.

That rule applies throughout a lot of asia too;especially to westerners with big fat wallets, as the locals see us.

Be careful dude, you don't want to lose your head cos you will have nowhere to stick your joint!!!!

Dude im on the equator, just grow those seeds at the beginning of the dry season, watch them grow beautifully in good soil water once a week and your plants should flower naturally and really well. they will get tall tho so make sure you have a good spot for them.
From personal experience, they will grow great.
