NICE roots. ;) I have just recently used a newer product that is suppose to be beneficial to plants, and is suppose to add the soil ecosystem and also increases yields by enhancing the plants’ ability to uptake nutrients and fend off pathogens and fungus & bacillus microbes. Here is a link on it http://www.prolificplantprobiotic.com/component/k2/item/8-science-of-p3
Anyone have luck with enzymes and inoculants? Im thinkn about it..is dry ph down any good?

Yeah, Its for soil. IDK about running it hydro though. As for the roots, I am thinking its just a buildup of algae. The roots would look like if you are feeding organic like you had said. I would again like you said check into something such as a beneficial microbe. However IDK if you have ever tried H202 but in smaller amounts it really can work wonders for that build up (slime) your talking about. Aquasheild is another good product for that very issue. Had to use it back when I ran DWC.. ;)

Yea It was Slime..should of seen the rotten dead roots in the filter..a bag or filters next...I clean the resi..with bleach..let it sit all nite.cleaned everything. Then hit the roots with h2o2 cleaned them good. Put it in not covered the top with foil try to cut down on light..b4 I could see..now its dark wen I look in..I need thick mylar and tint.or just more foil real good so no light gets in .I know thats the main reason..and this meter is messin up..the strips say 6 meter says 8 or 9 even after calibration. I dont think its got atc..its a hanna checker? I used the last of my microbrew? It aint very good.or the light made bad slime..shot my ph way up..lol :( why must I have so much hell In life?1397618901591.jpg

Yeah I had to use the H202 when I had ran DWC.. haha You have the same air pump as I do bro.. ;) its been a good one. I recently started back doing air injection still using soil as my medium. Plants are loving life right now.. :) And as for the "foil" honestly bro I wouldn't use it. I personally just go to wally world and pick up those 2$ emergency blankets they work just as good as anything else imo.

I used to use the HANNAH CHECKER.

POS pH meter.

Probe crapped out after a few months.

Needed calibrating every use to maintain its calibration.

Whats a good meter??

Most have their faults.

I've currently got a BLUELAB PH PEN. After 5minths it had to get sent back as it wouldn't calibrate.

I make sure I calibrate it to ph7 before each use.

Generally though I now use a SERA pH dropper kit. Its pretty damn accurate too. Generally within .2 of my meter and saves me the time of calibration etc.

Haven't used my BLUELAB pen for about 6weeks.

I keep adding my KCI storage solution to the cap to keep the probe moist because ANY pH probe if it dries it dies.

for hydro use coconut water. 15:1 ratio or fresh 1/4 cup per 5 gal. Full of more enzymes than anything in a hydro shop and cheaper. For soil seed sprout enzyme teas. For hydro and soil you can make lactobacillus. With rice wash and organic milk.

you never heard of coconut water? Its sold in every grocery store, WalMart, Costco, etc....

fresh coconut water is cheaper and better. Water drained from a coconut. Alot of stores sell coconuts for $2 or less each. Most coconuts hold 1/4 cup of water. Then add 1/4 cup for every 5 gal of water. Its more concentrated than bottled coconut water. It will work better in hydro for it doesn't ferment. It can be used in soil too. I prefer seed sprout teas instead. They do ferment. Go to my thread for instructions on seed sprout teas. Link is in my sig
.
coconut milk is made from the actual coconut (white part). There's water inside a coconut as well. There's a video how to make lacto bacillus somewhere in my thread. There's several threads on it in the organic section. You need cow milk or goat milk to make lactobacillus.
