Picked up some veg nutes and feeding every other watering. 1/2 a cap full to one gallon of water. I did a minor trim of fan leaves that could not be tucked out of the way. Still vegging under the 400 hps 18/6. It's starting to fill in fast. The light got raised 4-5 inches and I noticed an explosion of growth. BULB to canopy is approx 10 inches.

Now I need to start thinking about trimming under the screen and flowering. Maybe another week or two. We'll see.

To give you an idea of the size, the screen is 36"x28". My goal is to keep the canopy approx 2'x2'.

I ended up using the bbq grate on top of 2"x4"s under the pots. The run off tray slides right into place. The tray is the bottom of one of those germinating kits with the see thru lid.

Night temps outside are 44. Got the temps up to 78 in the room by adding insulation to the roof and blocking off intake and exhaust holes.

So far everything is green with no leaf problems.

I'm building a 6'x6'x6' room. I have 1 wall to finish and this is where I need to put a door. I will be closing up two of these openings with some remaining plywwod. That leaves 1 slot for a door.

Questions:

1. Out of the three openings, which one should I leave open for a door? It doesn't really matter to me. Anyone have an opinion?

2. Instead of a door with hinges, is there a simple lightproof material I could hang at the open slot? (black plastic or cloth) Maybe one on the inside and one on the outside something like a dark room (if I remember them correctly).

Thanks all

stuff the door, pull it down and use the whole room!!!

38 days veg - 3rd day in flower

I flipped the switch 3 days ago. My goal is to have a 2'x2' - 3'x3' canopy. With the stretch I should be right in there. I'm still using the 400hps that was used in veg. There are no sigs of leaf problems or pesky bugs. Knock on wood! Room temp is 76 with lights on and ~65 with lights off.

I've been snipping and tucking here and there so light is available to the bud sights.

The 400 arrived and is assembled. Today I bought some chain and eye hooks. It's now hanging in the center of the room. Time to hook up the exhaust with ducting and vent it out the roof.

The door - I called all the local hardware stores and nobody carries the tarp zippers. When I have some time, I'll make the 40 minute trip to Lowes and pick one up.

Seeds - Confidential Cheese germed in 24 hrs. Pineapple Express germed in 48 hrs. They are in party cups in FFOF soil. The CC is 1" tall and PE is just breaking soil. Both of these are under CFLs. Should have bought a veg bulb when I ordered the 400 but didn't. Need to pick one up soon.
I'd strongly consider a nice little vert setup - room looks perfect for it IMO.

Nice work.

This is the hood I'm currently using. The footprint is not the best for a scrog IMO. There is no doubt this hood will work just fine, but I think a bigger reflector would provide a much better footprint.

If I knew more when I was purchasing my light, I would have bought this reflector which is 2'x2'.

Or this 4'x4'.

I thought I would have a heat problem so I bought the air cooled hood with ducting ect.... I now have all ducting disconnected and holes plugged. I took the glass out of the hood. The hood is basically a reflector now. Heat is not the problem. The problem is the cold. Last night lights came on and after 3 hours the temp in the room was 72.

I will continue using what I currently have on this grow and see how it turns out. Someone mentioned rigid insulation. Damn good idea. When I get a chance to hit up Lowes I'll be picking some up.
