There are two types of professors. One has made a career of either going to, or teaching school. The other kind has gone to school, graduated and become successful in life. Then they go back to teach others.

It is usually in the sciences or business that has the second type. They are a small minority overall.

Most professors only know the paper side of things.

After the republicans took control of congress: "The Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 replaced the previous welfare system", and these people were able to regain their dignity by working for their livelihood, rather than waiting on a government check each month.

How exactly is it the government's fault that people were sitting on their asses getting checks? What part of the old system forced people to remain unemployed? And what part of PRWORA suddenly opened up these jobs for people to have?

Welfare doesn't kick in your front door and force you to take a check. If you're on welfare, you asked for it. The government is not to blame here. It's a problem with the individual.

The govt. knowing all that you just posted under the helping hand of Obama has discontinued Welfare reform. Obama is opening up the welfare programs to gather more folks into the permanent servitude system.

They understand human nature. They are to blame. They are taking advantage of human nature to help themselves get votes. They know exactly what they are doing.

If Bill Clinton did ONE thing right in 8 years, it was welfare reform.

Obama can't get rid of it quick enough. It makes one wonder......

And whats the problem with that? Aren't you supposed to figure some things out on your own in life?

Now, if I had a choice I'd rather have a professor with hands-on experience to show me some of the pitfalls that come with the territory in real life, but expecting every professor to have hands-on knowledge so they can spell it all out to you would be nothing more than the entitement mentality you hate.

Tell me, if it's human nature, why aren't you enslaved? This sounds vaugely familiar.....

It's the Liberals the elitists, who are the real racists, because they think poor folk, are too stupid to learn to take care of themselves.

Prove to me that the government forces these people to take checks and remain unemployed and destitute. Prove to me that people who milk the welfare system are actually looking for jobs.

If the government is to blame for people ACCEPTING checks because they're free, maybe we should start blaming McDonalds for the excess of lardasses in this country because their shitty food requires no effort to eat because it's already cooked.

You miss the point.

Most of the professors with hand on are typically conservative and business minded ppl.

The vast majority of the rest are liberal with no practical business savvy.

In the end, if you are studying anything like business and economics, and your professor is a liberal..... you'd be far better off dropping that course and shop for a better, more balanced Professor.

It amazes me to see kids in College here online who say they are taking economics, and then try to tell me Keysnian economics actually works.

A clear tip off that their Professor does NOT live in the real world.

Well, the govt. seems to have a leg up on you.... you don't seem to understand human nature at all.

I don't need to. All I need to know is that the people take these checks voluntarily.

It's like saying a casino TAKES your money when you were the one who walked in on your own two feet, pulled your money out of your pocket with your own hands, and lost it all.

Really, I'm suprised you of all people would take this kind of dim-witted stance. I thought you were on the political right. What happened to personal responsibility?

You know what? Fuck higher education.
I would be happy if the intellegencia could teach high school.
My 18 year old brother in law can't spell "the" I shit you not. (tha)
When he was 13 I tryed to teach him his times tables.
I gave up after three hours of X3 I got him to the 7s
7x3 he has that down.

You brainiacs want to impress me?
Try getting kids to understand that central america isn't Nebraska.
Teach them how to fucking read and make change.
You can't even get that right half the time.
For Christ sake if you can read write and do math you can do anything.
But no we gotta show them how to put on rubbers and bus them to abortion clinics.

We need to Keep It Simple Stupid.
Make sure these kids can fucking read!

But god forbid we get rid of the Dept of Education.
Its been a steller fucking success.

I don't know about anyone else, but my PARENTS taught me to read and write before kindergarten (imagine that!). They also made sure I learned math, science, etc, by BEING INVOLVED in my education. I know, it's a foreign concept to most parents who send their kids off to school every day and have NO clue what goes on there and no desire to be involved. These are the same parents who gripe that the public schools didn't teach their kids to read or write properly, so the public schools must be to blame.

Just FYI: HIGHER education means college. Colleges do not teach students to read, write, or do basic multiplication. Blaming higher education because your brother can't write or do math is ridiculous. Blame your parents. It's their fault.

 So the government comes to your house and threatens to beat you up if you don't give money to welfare programs?

Exactly.
Getting married and having kids is HARD WORK !
If you're not up for the challenge of the long haul and teaching a youngster how to acceptably conduct himself as a productive member of society, and stay married to their other parent, for God's sake;
DON'T F(.)CK NOTHIN' without protection !!!
The rest of us are tired of footing the bill.

In a manner of speaking, yes they do.

Income taxes are legal theft, so tell me what happens to people who don't "volunteer" to pay?

Property taxes are collected under the threat of losing your home via tax foreclosure. The term "home ownership" is a farce. If you own something, YOU choose how to use it.

Okay I think this is the part where you delve into liberal speak and counter my logic with emotional rationalizations, right? Before you do, please be kind enough to define the term "ownership". While you are at it, define extortion too.

I mean no disrespect, but I call em the way they are. I'm betting you won't bother to define the words though.

Another reason to advocate for more home schooling and dismantle the financial strangehold of "Public education".'
