Enough CFL's???

This is my first grow,so im not sure if this is enough CFL lighting for optimum growth, what does evryone here think??

im using (4) 3000k with an equivalent
of 125w(forgot what the package said actual wattage is). and (1) 105w 6500k equivalent to 400w i think.

i also have a MH that a buddy gave me,cant remember if he said it was 400,600 or 1000w..but eitherway i havnt set that up in there cause im sure ther will be a heat issue in my small closet.

anyones opinion?

It's enough to veg, I would want more going into flower.

ignore the equivalents, they dont mean shit as far as the light is concerned.

In all honesty we cant go by the equivalent wattage we need the actual wattage and your supposed to veg with atleast 100 watts a plant of 6500k bulbs and add a few 2700k-3000k bulbs in if u want but all in all u need to give us the actual lights ur using

Im using about the ssame wattage and i started flowering 7 day ago and i see little white hairs, but im ging to get a 350 watt fl 2700k and see if it helps out some.

The most costt effective cfls for flowering are 40 and 42w 2700k on Amazon for about $5 each. You can put one or 2 of those in clamp reflectors and the are easy to position for sidelight.

Slow down there kids...You all are right about kelvins and watts....but what it really comes down to is LUMENS PER SQUARE FOOT.
More the lumens the better your grow will be. If I remember correctly the sun puts out 10,000 lumens per sqft. That is optimal for
growing. Try as hard as you can to getting as close to that as possible without raising your temps.

So now with that info you need to do some math. So for every sqft you have try to get it as close to 10,000 as you can. Veg with your
higher kelvin lights and then change out all your lights to your lower kelvins when your ready to put them into flowering.

tie back your branches during vegetation and you will see your yield go up.

breezy- what do you mean by tying branches back during veg. ive grown quite a few succesful crops indoors and out, but have never heard about this tip. could you please elaborate on this? -thanks

Lumens/ft^2 is a meaningless measure. Lumens don't stack (additively or multiplicatively). Even if you have 100 26w bulbs, that emit 1700 lumens apiece, your max lumen output will be 1700.

yea it must be,they look real bushy and lush..not that ive had any other grows to comparte to,but ive seen lots of journals and pics.and mine dont look half bad..for flower ima throw this MH that i got in there,and put a nice inline exhaust fan do keep the heat under controle.

maybe for the next grow ill replace those 4 40w 3500k's with some 42w 5500's or somthing,ill just try a few dif ways and see wich results i like best.
