Elite Clone S1's, why do people hate on breeders for offering?

Ofcourse a good knockoff can be great, but eventually they are just ripping off actual breeders work, I do not believe that certain companies test all their 30+ strains...ever, but rely on people buying cause they are cheap and well advertised.
That falls under the theory of "Testing?? I don't have time for that, I've got pollen to chuck on these 40 girls!"

I think the 'fly by night' breeders offering S1's get lots of crap because the strains are generally released without being tested. All the solid breeders offering S1's usually test them out first.
Or we do donations to local patients & growers for even more testing than what we do ourselves

The problem with S1s is if I take
GG4 #1 (pollen donor)
GG4#2,3,4 (pollen Receivers)
Other strains (Receivers)

If for instance I run the seeds I get from the donor plant 9 times outta 10 any herm traits would be more likely to show in those offspring opposed to the receiving gg4 clones which would be less likely to show the same traits as the seeds procured from the pollen donor

Just speaking from personal experience as I've been breeding both regular and feminized seeds for years & the seeds that came from the selfed plants were the only ones I've had show intersex traits in the next generation from ALL Of my Crosses

Personally I like using Feminized Seeds , None of my Shit Herms
99.99% of the time

But Cannabis has been throwing nanners for 5000 years , it's in its nature

Better plants are found in S1's than the parent as well. It's not common, but it happens. Tom Hill replaced his Katsu Bubba with an S1 from it. Some pretty remarkable plants have been found in other S1's as well.

As far as breeders just not wanting to take the time to put these plants into regular seed form... well, that's 100% guaranteed way to NOT get a pure version of what you're looking for. S1's will produce near clones (not necessarily consistently, or even with any great frequency - it depends on the line) and the seeds have not been touched with other genetics. There is value in that, quite a lot of value IMO.
Can't say all S1s are bad , it's all in the breeder
