Hun, a gun is manufactured for combat, a fucking pencil is for drawing though I acknowledge for some odd reason someone migh attack someone with a sharpened pencil but are you seriously comparing a

Attacking to defend is still attacking. If your child or you get detention for fighting as an act of self defense in elementary school, then why is it ok for adults to pop a cap in eachother because they 'need to defend themselves'.

And I've made this poit enough times. I am not saying one should 'lay down and take it because shooting won't make you better' as someone who hasn't had to deal with violent crime, living in a middle-class utopia dreamworlds.

I grew up in the 'ghetto' areas of London, I am a woman and I have been assaulted and raped on several occasions. Just to put that bluntly. Doesn't mean I should walk around with a gun. I still don't feel I have the right to put a bullet in someone because I think it might happen again, just as people attack me for making comments on men being predatory and what I'd like to do to some attackers (though I wouldn't act on it) despite what happened to me.

Everyones got a fucking vendetta, even the people who appear sane enough shouldn't have a gun.
Raped on several occasions? Ever think about at the very least getting mace or taser? Or are those banned oger there too?

If so, I guess you'll just have to accept being raped all the time, and no that wasn't meant to be offensive, just calling how I see the situation.

sorry but we were talking about this today
After Australian lawmakers passed widespread gun bans, owners were
forced to surrender about 650,000 weapons, which were later slated for
destruction, according to statistics from the Australian Sporting
Shooters Association.

The bans were not limited to so-called “assault” weapons or
military-type firearms, but also to .22 rifles and shotguns. The effort
cost the Australian government about $500 million, said association
representative Keith Tidswell.

Though lawmakers responsible for passing the ban promised a safer
country, the nation’s crime statistics tell a different story:

  • Countrywide, homicides are up 3.2 percent;
  • Assaults are up 8.6 percent;
  • Amazingly, armed robberies have climbed nearly 45 percent;
  • In the Australian state of Victoria, gun homicides have climbed
    300 percent;
  • In the 25 years before the gun bans, crime in Australia had been
    dropping steadily;
  • There has been a reported “dramatic increase” in home burglaries
    and assaults on the elderly.
