you would need ballast that run on 120/240 but most digi ballast do this already. You should also find out what breaker it is on in your main panel and check the amp rating on that breaker. Add up the total amps from EVERYTHING thats running on that breaker and follow the safety ratings... You can get more info here~
Just post your question.

edit: does the plug and receptacle have an odd shape... not like a normal 120.?

I have ballast lol I'm pretty sure it runs of its own breaker and the prongs are turned like this -.- instead of l.l

from your discription,it sounds like like a dedicated 30 amp 220 volt outlet. ASSUMING you are in US. you should be able to find a light controller that will match the plug or if not, swapping the correct outlet is not very hard. just get the correct outlet, wire it in and possibly change the breaker if you need smaller size for the outlet. again,ASSUMING it is a 30 amp 220 circiut, your wiring is good for that amount of current(6000 watts). if you change the outlet to a 15 or 20 amp outlet, you want to change the breaker to the same so the breaker trips b4 the outlet starts to melt. do not put in a larger breaker w/out an electrician as you may overload the wiring.

most controllers I have seen plug into a standard 220 volt dryer outlet and either 110 or 220 volt outlets to plug your lights into. if 220,you may need the correct 220 volt plug for your ballasts.
