Edibles for dogs

I'm not sure if this is in the right section, but does anyone have experience making edibles for dogs? And how did they do it/dosage? I have an Akita who's about 11, and his hips are getting pretty bad. Just want to give him some relief without making him stoned and sleepy

Bob Hemphill(?) Talks about it on the potcast. I believe he makes a tincture that's mainly CBD, with trace amounts of THC, as he is a firm believer all the cannabanoids contribute to the medicinal effect. I would give those a listen.

From what I have read, do NOT give your dogs thc; cbd can help, but apparently, canines don’t process thc the same as humans and it is not a good idea. I took the same route as you, trying to provide my 13 year old German shepherd with some pain management. This was several years back and I though I was helping, but having more recently realized that thc is detrimental to dogs, I honestly have a lot of shame and guilt I was spending over 100$ per week on pain pills wherever I could find them because I simply was not willing to let him go.. I terribly regret having ever given him the thc now that I understand it’s a bad idea.

tldr-don’t do it; cbd for dogs is ok, thc for them is a no-no

Yeah it looks like I'd need to grow a CBD strain, I wasn't planning on giving him thc. I'm sorry to hear about your dog tho it is rough to accept that they're getting old and won't be around much longer

I mix CBD Isolate I buy from these guys (no affiliation) into some extra light olive oil and give it to my seniors twice daily. They get 5 mg twice a day for a total daily dose of 10 mg (small dogs)


You have to work out the dosage schedule for your dog's weight. Just google and you'll pull up things like this:

idk man when i was growing up my mom had a chihuahua that got into her BF stash destroyed 3 or 4 joints he had in a bag and that dog was fcked up. wobbling and lethargic had to take it to the vet and they laughed told us to go home and let the dog process it. what i want to know is how high do lizards get becuz i tried to get one high as a teen and man he could smoke more then i could.
