ec reading

Hi I'm using Dutch pro nutes and I'm going off their chart on how much nutes to give. well iv mixed up a batch and I can get my pH perfect but my ec reads 0.5 and the chart says it should be 1.8 even tho I'm giving the reccomended amount of nutes don't no what to do

I use dutch pro. How many ml of nutes did you add to how much water?

Also how old are your plants?

thanks for the reply they have been out the soill for 1 WEEK i was just trying to get things right befor i start giving them anything even though the chart says start feed first week.
and im using 1ml take root. 2ml multi. and 2ml each of a and b. in 1 liter of water

So have you changed from soil to hydro with them? Either way if they're only a week or two old keep the dosage to the minimum. 0.8 to 1.0 EC would be suffice for a plant that age. Remember to take half of your background EC in to account as well mate and add that to the total

what is background ec is it the ec before u add the feed

I think he meant sprouted for a wk. You have to take a reading before you add any nutes.. If you don.t you wont know exactly what the true nute level is.. Ex if plain water has a reading of 100 ppm's and your target range is 500, then the reading after adding nutes will be 600.
