Ebb and Grow Bucket Kit Questions...

Hey guys... Long time reader, first time poster...... I've been using the Ebb and Grow kit for about two weeks now and I've had a couple of problems with nutrient burn/lockout and stuff like that so far so I flushed for 3 days and then used 1/2 strength nutrients after that.... Well the plants still don't seem to really be growing much and look pretty burnt.

Well, to my questions...

1. How many waterings? I know that this is entirely dependent on room temp, RH, etc but I would like to see some fellow Ebb and Grow users chime in on how they do their watering schedules... 1 or 2 in the beginning, and every 4 hours later, or straight to every 4 hours right off the bat, etc?

2. I haven't really been topping off at all in between resevoir changes but I'm only doing 12 plants with a 55 gal res so I figure since I'm not even losing very much water that my res changes every week should be sufficient... Thoughts on that?

3. Any other tips from fellow Ebb and Grow bucket users would be very much appreciated... Thanks for your time fellas!

1st week or so of veg set them up to be watered 2 times a day week 2 water them 3 times a day
then on week 3 go for 4 times a day and I water them 4 times a day until done.
make sure to only water during the light cycle dont water when lights are off and start first water
1 hour after lights go on and last water 1 hour befor lights go off.

you dont need to fill your rez all the way up if your changing it every week your just waisting nutes.
figure out your nutes, they need there food. they will grow fast once you get that down.
always mix micro nute first. mix well than grow than bloom etc etc.
atleast this is what I do and everything looks great. I am sure others will say to do something different
but it works well for me.
good luck

I started with 4 floods from the beginning and everything looks good. I put 2 large airstones and a pump rated for 170 gallons. I think I noticed more growth after that, but I am new to this too. Week 2 for me as well

4 times a day seems to be the majic# here also. I've learned that baby steps work best 4 me. Always adjust ph levels b-4 adding nutes, it'll end up saving $$ in the long run. It's a whole lot easier to add nutes slowly and bring them up to the correct levels and check your lil girls for deficiencies, rather than burning the shit out of them and trying to back step. Then you also leave your self some leeway for adding trace elements & fine tuning nute levels for your particular strain your growing.

1.) Never ask this question without stating your growing medium. Its different for every medium, and those who just spit out watering times without asking medium are looking for +rep and not looking to truly give you advice. In HYDROTON, which is what I use, you should water once a day for the first week, twice a day for the second week, and three times per day until week 5 of flowering when its tossed up to 4 times per day.

2.) You'll want about 30 gallons of water in your reservoir, dont fill it up to 55, its a waste. You should top off during the week, when the res goes down the ppm goes up. THINK OF WATER AS PPM DOWN AND MAINTAIN IT LIKE PH ACCORDING TO YOUR PPM TARGET ON YOUR NUTRIENTS CHART!!!

3.) Check my grow thread, you might see something in the pictures useful with respect to general ebb/flo tips.

Good luck!!

and by the way -- You cant really "flush" a ebb & flo system. It flushes it every time you water it by the nature of how it works. So if you "over nutrient" your water, add ppm down (CLEAN WATER!) to maintain your ppm. Flushing wont really do anything unless your in soil or in rockwool.
