EBay 900W Cheap LED grow. (56K RIP)

have you ever considered hydroponics? You can really cut down on your veg. time.

this is the day i transplanted from solo cups to hydro (they are all clones)
This is one month of veg. and I'm far from an expert with a dialed in set up this is my fourth grow and the first time growing 4 out of the 5 strains I have. Just old school 1000w magnetic switchable ballast with MH for veg and HPS for bud (and my room is not normally filled with clutter and BS lol I was still in the process of moving)

Would love to, But dont have the time to operate it. Find it hard enough to find the time to water them in soil every 2-3 days and thats only 5mins work lol.
Knowing my luck would have a problem and going 3 days with out a check in they would be toast, where soil is forgiving.

I already grow more then I can smoke and cook with so dont need to speed anything up.
And that iv now got the LED dialled in should be a bit faster next time and got clones already vegging under one of the 3070 Cree cobs so that will give them a head start.

Didnt have enough time to snap a pic of each one but here are the 2 that have been under LED 100% of there life.
Will try find time to get pic in the standard format iv been taking them tomorrow.

Week 4


Stretch has slowed down, growing only 1/4 inch over this week.
And its coming in at 2 foot 5




This ones coming in at 2 foot 4 but has grown 3/4 a inch over this week so still might have a little more stretch in it.


That bud I cut in the last photos all dry now and final weigh was 5.3g, Pritty average stuff but better then mate got in the last tin he had to buy lol.
Theres quite a influx of cabby outdoors at the moment since its at the end of out door season so the stuff that was cut early is on the market at the moment.

Ones going yellow so had another read of my neturants and looks like the only N its been getting is the 0.1% from the calmag. Might have to start feeding some N to see it though the next 4 weeks.

What strain is the single cola in the blue bucket? That thing is PHAT!

Week 6 found time just before lights out.

The one Bud I had been water curing finished yesterday so threw it in the oven on bake at 50C for 3 hours to dry it out.



Smoked very well with no smell or flavour. My partner who doesn't smoke anything other then vape was able to smoke it as well with out coughing which I was quite amazed at since she would normally be coughing for a good 2mins after having air dried/cured.
I had to compare it to some air dried stuff side by side. And its far better but in the air dried defence its only been cured for 3 days in jar so far so still has a long way to go.
It also seemed to have a lot more resin and stained my fingers heavily instead of just a small colour change. And left behind white ash.
Was expecting that bud to dry out to 1.5-1.4g going off wet cut weight but dried out to 1g.

So next harvest Im going to do some more water curing after this success, 50/50. Then leave the water cured stuff in jars with air dried stuff for a further week to get some of the smell back into it.

With this post im going to say Chinese LEDs defiantly do deliver. I went in sceptical expecting to have been wasting my time but after looking this week I am impressed.

And 4 of the clones I took are basically ready to go into pots.

So going to have to get some more soil at some point this weekend or next week.

Week 8



Getting very close now.
Front plant in blue buck continues to swell, No idea how long that has left and its already on week 12 and continues to grow more pistols.
Tiches are 40% milky 60% clear

Middle plant Week 8 some pistols are starting to amber.
10% milky 90% clear

Far plant Week 8 most pistols amber.
70% milky 30% clear so have started to flush.

So with it being a long weekend have cut the one down in blue bucket.

Keep the main top to water cure and was left with 3oz of wet sticky cabby buds, Not the best for smoking since the high leaf ratio so I Decarbed them for 30mins and ended up with 1oz and cooked that into into 200g of butter and made some brownies with it.
Have had 1/6th of the brownie would rate as high strength.


Checked the far plant in that last photo with the microscope since have flushed it 4 times and its started to yellow very fast.
Have it in complete 24hour darkness at the moment other wise would of got picture. Also have dehumidifier running so I could get 1 last flush though it since the low humidity pulls moisture from the leaves sucking more though the roots but since there is no light the roots only alow water to the leaves. With past grows have seen it frost the buds up more as buds protect themselves from the dryness. Will get pictures before cutting tho.

I had to turbo dry a small bud since was to hard to keep it at steady distance while on pant and wet it just smeared the lens.
Grow is getting close to the end. Last plant looks to have another 3 weeks so will be moving it and the Chinese light to cupboard while I set the room up for 600W of Cree 3070 cobs in pure penrite hempy buckets.
Will continue to post pictures though to the end of this LED grow.

Week 9 - Have started to really swell, and pistols are turning orange. So from that I expect 2-3 more weeks until key harvest time.


Wasnt enough room to hang light above so have had to go from the side. Turn the plant 90 degrees each day.

Final weigh in at 27grams.

Pistils continue to amber and leafs are starting to yellow.

Week 10,
If I was to guess on the time left id say about 2 weeks.

Clones are also coming along well. And got there first topping. This will be the last update of them unless some one requests I start a grow journal for them.

Have 2X 100% perlite,
2X 50/50 soil/perlite
1X pure soil
Have gone hempy style with using icecream containers to keep 20-30mm worth of water available to them exept in the sure soil one.
