i was wondering what you all thought of these lights for a closet grow with 48 party cups split into 2 boxes two led panels per box:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/4x-New-225-LED-Hydroponic-Plant-Grow-Light-Panel-14w-Dual-BAND-Blue-Red-2012-/380522451119?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5898e7d0af

is this a good deal and what kind fo results can i expect with 12/12 from seed as well as 1 week and 4 days of veg? thanks
I'd stay away from those. The back of them look like pressboard/cardboard....

I'm really not trying to be a hater or anything led's would be awesome if they were good but i did some research a few years back and they didn't seem to good back then, but im sure they will get better does any one know are there any good leds out that can do what they claim these days?

[Edit] Wtf $1800 for this light and they cant even hook you up with t5s instead of t8s, http://www.californialightworks.com/Products_SolarStorm.htm .

hey man them lights are junk as junk gets.....do yourself a favor and go with something like this

http://www.amazon.com/600W-DUAL-Lumatek-Digital-Ballast/dp/B000I1S43Q/ref=sr_1_fkmr2_1?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1355360381&sr=1-1-fkmr2&keywords=250w+dual+balast

yeah its a bit more pricy, but its a dual balast so you can set up both rooms on one balast.....you would of course have to buy bulbs and cool tubes and shit..

or you can go with something like this

http://www.amazon.com/EnviroGro-FLT24-2-Foot-Fluorescent-System/dp/B002JQBQZQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1355360494&sr=1-1&keywords=T5+light

would have to buy 2 of them, if money is a issue check these out

http://www.amazon.com/Hydrofarm-FLCDG125D-125-Watt-Compact-Fluorescent/dp/B001UV6P9I/ref=sr_1_6?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1355360494&sr=1-6&keywords=T5+light

could buy 2 of these ^^ for the same 80 bucks and get a nice little CFL hood with em, also replacement bulbs and upgrades are avail at http://www.1000bulbs.com/?clickid=0004d0b17f20abfd0ae0a8527f00653f

applepoop,

Those panels are complete junk and will not grow or bud a MJ plant. I purchased 2 of them several years ago and they would barely even keep clones alive, they are now on the floor behind my two theater seating chairs for uplighting ;). Not all LED's are bad you just have to shop around for quality panels and understand just like any other lighting system they will have their pros, cons, and limits. Over 2 years ago I ran a 180w Hydroponics Hut Pro-Grow 7 band panel and a chinese knock-off 120w 5 band panel inside a 4x2x5 flowering 4 plants at a time and did an average of 1 zip a plant, now both of those panels just run my veg tent and have been running 24/7 non-stop for over 2 years, LEDs are great for veg.

The 180w pro-grow just stays on veg switch for my newly planted clones, full spectrum 3 days after potting, and the 120w on the right keeps my moms and future moms happy. The 180w pro-grow runs for around $300 and is one of the best in that price range for what you get.

^^ 150w CFL for 40 bucks, when you buy the rig in the above link you get a 125w bulb plus the reflector for like 44 bucks. this will grow a decent little SoG style grow not sure about 24 plants though if your looking for something that large scale (even with poarty vups its alot) your going to need probabally a 250w HPS in your flower room

heres a good 400w kit

http://www.amazon.com/Apollo-Horticulture-Dimmable-Reflector-Accessories/dp/B004YXDHX6/ref=sr_1_1?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1355361063&sr=1-1&keywords=400w+hps+apollo

^^ this kit plus the CFL thing for 40 bucks and under 200 bucks you can have plentifull lighting for what you need to do......growing good pot is a investment, you get what you put in...i have over 2k invested in my setup and most would say its a cheap setup. you want to do it and do it right save your money for a few weeks and get a good lighting setup.

dont forget you need soil, nutes, fans, containers, seeds and a shit ton of other unexpected things im not saying you need to drop 2 grand on a legit setup but a 500$budget would get you decently setup for your first grow. also you may want to think about not doing 2 different areas on first grow, maybe order a decent HID light like the 400w i linked above and a couple beans from a seedbank and go with that and see how it works out, hell even some bagseed beans just for your first test run....

the best advice i can give you is to look around here and see what panels are doing the best. obviously posting links to a bunch of panels that there are no journals of indicate they are probably crap. also, be prepared to spend some money on LED's, going the cheap route is going to turn you into one of the many ignorant LED haters.

Edit: i can recommend vipar, check out my thread and see if you like the growth. another company that seems legit is area 51.

you seem to be stuck on LED's.....which is fine but your not going to get good cheap ones, your just going to waste your money. if Budget is a issue then STOP LOOKING AT LED's they are the most expensive lights on the market right now...

i already gave you some pretty sound advice as far as your options for lighting. if you dont want to listen to me fine but the bottom line is as everyone here has told you cheap LED's are fucking crap...if you want to continue looking at them then stop trolling on here and just waste your money and in 2 months from now you can come back and kiss-ass

Cheaper upfront alternative to led is par t5. But replacment bulbs can get expensive a year down the line.

8 bulb t5 - $200

Aquarium bulbs for flower. 4 zoo med flora suns - $15 ea. , 4 uvl redsuns -$20 ea. - www.drfostersmith.com, www.hellolights.com, or www.aquariumspecialty.com

for veg - 6 5400k 2 6500k - $46 8 pack. - Htg ebay store.

Or the best led for the lowest cost - apollo from cidly or bysen led - email for prices.

For led at the minimum you want 36 watts per square foot.
