Here some other shit: (
what's your source for this info please?)
HOW TO ALTER THE PERCENTAGE OF FEMALES
From literature
(again.. what literature) it appears that the growth of a male or female plant from seed, except for the predisposition in the gender chromosomes, also depends on various environmental factors. For growers who are well experienced, percentage of female plants is 60% - 90% female,
(from just better than half to almost all.. a pretty big variation for ANYTHING scientific) but less experienced growers can end up with 100% male plants.
(show me ANY post where someone says they got 100% male plants please.. never heard of it happening)The environmental factors that, according to literature
(what literature? It's more than acceptable to post your resources) , influence gender are:
- a higher nitrogen concentration will give more females (at the three-pairs-of-leaves stage and continue for two or three weeks).
I've never - ever given nutes before week 3..
- a higher potassium concentration will give more males (at the three-pairs-of-leaves stage and continue for two or three weeks).
*check out the **** down there and refer to this statement after....
- a higher humidity will give more females (at the three-pairs-of-leaves stage and continue for two or three weeks).
I have never put seeds under a dome.. and my humidity is like 40% at a max.
- a lower temperature will give more females (at the three-pairs-of-leaves stage and continue for two or three weeks).
My temps are optimal... so don't know for sure from experience.
- more blue light will give more females (at the three-pairs-of-leaves stage and continue for two or three weeks).
reference?
- Fewer hours of light will give more females (at the three-pairs-of-leaves stage and continue for two or three weeks).
My veg cab has always been 24/0.
- In later stage, as you increase the light, the plants grow faster and show more females/less males.
Sixteen hours of light per day seems to be the best combination, beyond this makes little or no appreciable difference in the plant quality.
I have toyed with daylight hours since I started growing.. 15 hours and less induces flowering in certain strains... bad advice from my experience.
- Another idea is to interrupt the night cycle with about one hour of light, This gives you more females.
again, where's this info coming from.. contradictory to my experience, so I question it.
- Spray dilute Fish Emulsion ( 1 tablespoon per gallon ). When the plants have three sets of true leaves, plus the top sprout, give them a wetting spray of Fish Emulsion. Do it once a day for three of four days. Top and bottom of the leaves.
I grow DWC hydro... I will never put fish ANYTHING in my res.... (what's a "top sprout" - never heard the reference and love to learn)0
- To achieve 100% female plants is to expose young seedlings for several hours to an atmosphere of Carbon Monoxide. It doesn't hurt the plants, but it could kill you.
Hmmmm... first time I've heard this too... please post proof of this shit you're posting - from a reliable source. I somwhat think that if this was true - I wouldn't have to spend so much for fem. seeds.
- Treatment of hempseed with ethylene gas will increase the resulting number of female plants by about 50%
( you can make hemp turn into cannibus?... BULLSHIT)
http://www.naihc.org/hemp_information/content/hemp.mj.html
. Ethylene is produced by certain plants (i.e., bananas,
**** bananas add ..(brace yourself).. POTASSIUM to the soil.
http://www.ehow.com/how_2126328_use-bananas-as-fertilizer.html (that was the thing from above that controdicts what you are saying)
cucumbers and melons), and these can be used to treat hempseed in a simple manner. About two weeks before you plan to sprout the seeds, place them in a paper bag or envelope and put that in a plastic bag with the peels of a ripening banana or cucumber.
EDIT: sorry.. must have mis-read that lastnight.. thought you were saying to add banana's to the soil.. but I'd still like to read where you are getting this stuff..
Replace the peels after a couple of days, and change the bags to prevent mold.
- When hempseed is treated with the female hormone estrogen, percentage of females that are produced will increase by about 10%.
(hemp is NOT marijuana... you can't turn hemp into marijuana.. you just.. can't.)
Crushing up birth control to add "estrogen" has been disproven A LONG time ago...
Dissolve a birth control pill in water and soak the seeds overnight in the solution. After the initial soaking, continue to treat the seeds by sprouting them on a paper towel soaked in the solution.
