I honestly cannot find anything about how my yield with only the minimum sunlight of 5 hours is affected. It obviously took longer than originally planned to acquire my home, I wanted seeds planted March as usual, I am a creature of comfort, I do best following the directions of those wiser...
I can relate. I would plant some bagseed (or other low-cost genetics) and let the plants tell you. Maybe not much of a harvest this season, but good things learned for the next.

Oh and here's something to cheer you right up. :bigjoint: cn

My back yard also has major roots from the tree, I am a student of those who dig not use pots... it's like the world is against me using Free and Better Energy
We have 1 fir that is 100' if it's a foot, with 7 plants in the root zone. I feel your pain. Had to use a concrete bar in some places.

Thanks, and I am being a bit dramatic I guess last year at the rental I went through solid ground that held roots and huge rocks to replace with decent soil... but damn it I started in February!

Thank You! Mr Mellow and I will be churning the soil soon... any input on something we can rent or buy that will help us with roots?!

I guess what I am saying is :dunce: concrete bar?
D'oh! Missed this earlier, sorry. It's one of those steel bars, 5' long roughly, point on one end, kind of a chisel head on the other end normally. We always called them concrete bars, I assume, because someone uses them for busting concrete (They sure seem built to handle it.). Be warned, they are solid steel, and it is a workout. It'll plow through roots, rocks, and hardpack though.

Edit: Concrete bar must be slang in my circles. Google "digging bar" you'll see a ton of examples in the shopping section.

We use these to pry out rocks and break through sandstone in the lakes area. They are a life saver....We call them bar chisels around here.

OK it'll be Mr Mellow doing the hard work or I hope lol he is thinking it may be the same gadget that you use for fence posts? I also walked by a house today and think I'm getting the hedge thing more... they had a raised yard? idk but it is with a 3' brick fence around the raised yard with 3' hedges... seems kinda hard still?
