East Coast Guerilla Growers

This is a thread for east coast outdoor growers to share information, tips, experiences, etc. to others who grow here. To start it off were anybody's plants affected by that huge storm last yeatserday?

Wasn't very severe here. Actually, I welcomed the rain. My girls needed it.

yea man ive been doing rain dances for the last week. its been hot and sunny here.

After the dry summer we had last year, I'm giving mulch a try this year. Seems like it's helping to retain moisture. The only apparant downside is that after a dry spell the mulch has to rehydrate, so a light rain sometimes isn't enough to actually water the soil.

I hate humping water. I had actually wanted to go a little bigger this year, but the memories of hauling water when it didn't rain for a month last summer changed my mind. My watering hole is about a 10min walk from my patch. Doesn't seem very far, but it's uphill and with a 3 gallon container in each hand it's a pretty good hike even for someone in good shape.

I think the whole water situation is probably the most overlooked detail for new guerrilla growers. Pretty much every rookie knows they need sites that receive a lot of sun and are well hidden, but often fail to realize how cumbersome hauling water can be. Especially late in the summer when the plants start getting huge and need much more water than they did in May and June.

here here...i know your pains of hauling water sonar..last year sucked if you had to bucket bomb..there was a storm yesterday? not here...got some rain last night, and its been a few days since we had some...all in all i couldnt have asked for a better location because of water availability, its still a hike to carry me 6 gal gerry can, but, the water is already there, readily available with no chance of drying up. aside from that, the only time i have waterd the soil wasnt even remotly dry, i just did it as a trial run, and to kind of keep ahead of the drought..i think that unless your using some kind of pump or drip system that just needs routine maintenance, watering will always suck no matter how short the trek.

There was a terrential downpour with thunder and lightening here for 6 or 8 hours. It pounded the soil so hard some of my roots came exposed. My site is right on top of a huge aquifer so i dug a 5 foot well for water. It makes everything so much easier.

Had rain all day off an on yesterday here. My plants havnt dried up at all this summer. I still regularly water but dont actually REQUIRE the amount. They seem happy though. Has anyone been spooked by copters yet?

No copters yet here in NY, fortunately. Those things scare me. They go so low!

I've seen a view of them hovering around my area in NJ. I can't tell if they are commercial or are marijuana spotters. I'm by a residential area so i have a good feeling that they are commecial. Still sketchy though.

Choppers don't even cross my mind. I don't live in an area that's well known for growing, so as far as I know they don't even do it. My county can't afford stuff like that anyway. The only way I would imagine the state police would do a fly over is if they had reason to believe a large scale grow was going down.

Never know man, growing around my area has been goin on long before ANYONE, let alone the police knew about it. Best thing is to be smart and stay safe. Keep the patch to a minimum amount of plants and keep them hidden.

i agree, imo they are looking in state parks and forests for well funded cartel grows. (miles of irrigation, campsites, guns, lots of chemicals) some bumbaclot rasta walking through the woods to his 10 plant grow site is the least of thier concerns. and think about the state of the economy and the tornados all over the country. i dont think they are spending too much on marijuana irradication. there are way too many of us! I also feel like they are focusing more on indoor grows. they would rather have a home to take and sell, not just pull plants out of the ground and get nothing out of it. like i said this is just my opinion on the situation.

good point...why spend money to eradicate if they are not going to profit from it?...i mean it is about the almighty dollar in this day and age. nobody profits from guerilla ops cept the guerilla and/or the crooks. dont forget though...marijuana eradication programs are FEDERALY funded, so when you see those helis...ask yourself.."did i buy that?"

i have dug holes to hold water, 5 gal water is "about 45 lbs" you have to carry 2 to balance out.

Hey, you guys think sprouting seeds now would be a decent idea? Ive got the freebies from the Attitude 4/20 sale left and I don't know if i have the will power to save them after my crop was jacked.

You could probably get ur plants up to about a foot before the flower not a bad idea if u have nothing else.

Does Mid Michigan count as the east coast? Probably not, we have a separate little micro climate here. Still Ive gotta show some love for the other guerrillas out there.

you guys saying you havent seen any choppers yet its probably because they dont do the fly overs until the end of the season. Im in upstate NY and I know that this is the case here. Just dont be to naive about the choppers, chances are they will come out eventually.
