I've never grown hydro but been wanting too like you. Doing lots of research. The EASIEST way seems to be DWC...all you do it like the plants root hang into water with an air stone. pretty simple

Well it depends there are different types of hydro set ups, but the easiest would have to be DWC bucket or deep water culture. What is is is 5 gal buckets with lids or rubbermaid containers with lids a hole or holes are cut in the lids for net pots that will hold your plants, the net pots are put in the hole in the lid where it does not fall through because of the lip on the pot. Other then that you have to have a aquarium air pump. Fill bucket or container with you hydro nutrient solution witch is your nutrients mixed with water up till it just touches the bottom of the net pot when the lid is on. Run you air line down in to the bottom of buck and connect to a air stone to make a bunch of tiny bubbles that will keep your plants alive. This is also a very productive set up for how easy it is. If you need more help just look through some of the posts about DWC.

Also you can use pots with coco in them and then just water with your nutrients and this would be Hydro-Organic if you use organic nutrients or you can use chemical either way this is a other easy option.

The best approach would be, do NOT start plants until you have learned the basics. Too many people fail because they didn't bother to learn anything until the plant was already weeks old. Any time spent researching pays off 10 fold down the road.

IMO DWC is the easiest and most efficient way to grow hydro, as long as we talking small personal operation. Anything bigger than 1000wt and I would use ebb and flow.

read the main thread started by Potroast. It was only 75 pages when I first read it. There is a lot of good info in there but it is spread out, which is why you need to read the whole thread.

Yeah do some research get the growers bible by Jorge Cervantes get an idea of what you want your grown to look like.. Start there building a good grow room is key and you will have plenty of questions regarding exhaust, intake, etc...Start there, that right there will take up mass time but building a proper grow room is key and theres lots to learn with that alone.

yea, like jimmy said lots of homework. search ebb and flow systems. those are probably the easiest.

nutes and confuseing too. foxfarm makes it easy, they're a good company to start with.

there's a growers book at most grow shops that all the employees will call the 'grow bible' if they grow, but it's called something generic like 'hydroponics: growing indoors'. it's thick green book with a garden on the cover and goes into everything very well with plenty of diagrams. lights, soil, bugs, harvest, everything you'll need to know. very easy to absorb too. i donno my first grow i did ebb and flow and it was pretty easy. i could grow dwc, although i never have. i'm comfortable with ebb and flow, and i understand all the concepts with it to make dankies so i'm sticking to it.
