easiest way of getting a mother

im growing from seed and want a mother plant to take cuttings from is the easiest way to take a cutting from the plant and flower or put the whole plant into flower and then when i know its sex put it back into veg what would be less stressful for the plant thank you everyone:peace:

The best thing to do would be veg a couple plants (2-4). When they are big enough to take clones, cut a branch from each plant and veg those for a couple weeks. When the clones are big enough, flower them to determine which plants are males and females.

sorry Dually but with your way you have to grow the same plants twice before you even know the sex of them,

you want to grow from seed, flower till it shows sex, throw out males and take clones from females, what you do with the original females is your choice, you can continue to flower or go back to veg. but this way all the clones you take are guaranteed to be female

I have to agree with this, dually your method is good also but a lot of people agree that taking a clone 2 weeks into flowering is the best time, so it just seems easier:peace:

My fault, didnt know you can take clones once they are flowered...and even put them back into veg!!! WOW I might try this.

thats what I do, works damn good too, but you may have to veg a pretty good sized plant before the preflowers show. Either way you only gotta do it one time, then you are off and running.
