Earthboxes

I was just curious if anyone on here has a earthbox or has used one in the past , I just got one and i am going to have it going here within a week , I was just tryin to get some feedback on this product?

what is it, and maybe you should have got info before you got one.

i know what it is and how it works , my grandfather uses them for tomatoes and he gets amazing results , so im hoping ittl really make a difference

what is it? And why not ask grand dad how to set it up?

Probably because his grandpa would want to know what he was going to grow in it, and then probably would want to see the results of said project....

I know how to set it up as well , i hooked up 13 of these on a system so they never had to be watered , i was just curious if anyone else in here has heard of them or used them , Check out www.earthbox.com , If these things grow herbs like tomatoes ittl be sweet

I use them for peppers, never tried anything different, Where I bought mine, they take everything seriously and reccomended an airstone or two in each earthbox, I just put a flexible one through down the watering spout. Nothing like frothy nutes to the roots..... Sounds like a good idea to me!

Ahhh so its one of those over price autowatering pots they sell in organic garden mags.

I.ve been growin in the EB's for a couple of years now, more like 3 grows and 4th in Nursery!
Have two in service with 2-6" bubble stones hooked in series glued to the bottom. (Tried silicon first but stones floated so Gorilla Glue now and reliable)
Filled one with EB brand soil and other with an over the counter organic mix w/3 months of nutes &moisture control included.
1st grow was experimental so I used some decent bag weed seed and away I went....filled resevoirs with tap water Ph adjusted to around 6.5 then top watered from there on until overflow started (pics show O/F containment)
When filling with soil I placed 3 solo cups in as I filled to create a cavity for transplant.
First boo-boo was veg length, let get too tall and reached max light height B4 flowering cycle so pulled tops over and tied down.
Second boo-boo was flowering length, 4 to five weeks (removed 2 males as soon as ID'd about 3 wks in) harvested girls cause they stunk & thought they were ready...LOL
Yield was around 2 oz dried and jar cured and high was moderate to say the least, being a cigarette smoker had no problem puffing this instead of my Lucky Strikes!
After each harvest (4 to 5wks veg, 6 to 8 flower) I empty boxes into my garden cart, fill with water and stir/mix slurry then let drain overnight slowly in yard. U should see how the grass grows where I drained..
Consecutive grows have been more controlled & successful using the Un-mentionable granual fertilizer (1tbls per gallon) and FF triple pack.
Last grow was a combination of AK-48 & Medusa and my preference now is the AK. For some reason the Medusa did not produce as advertised, had no grow odor and tasted like....well U know...(

42w (5100k) Cfl's for starting then go 400w MH in a Sunleaves reflector for veg, 40 0w HPS for flowering. Since starting this routine my budget billed electric bill has gone from $120/mon to $170/mo. As soon as I run 220v to room that expense should go down since my ballast are universal voltage. 120v,220v,277v & 1ph 480v.

im diggin the setup , very informational , im gonna have 2 EB's in a 5X5 Tent with a 600w and as far as soil goes i have a lil soil from the red river valley that im gonna use , its supposed to be really rich , its damn near black in color, but yeah im gonna make a lil mix of that , vermiculite , perlite , and lime powder or something (white powdery stuff ) its supposed to reduce the acidty of the soil , so well see how this goes its my 1st multi plant grow

I am thinking about doing some Auto Flowers in an Earthbox I am building myself. Have you ever had any nute deficiencies with the earth box process? How do you add the Fox farm nutes? Do you stick them in the reservoir?
I have to travel for work 3 or 4 days in a row a month. I am looking for a process that will allow me to leave my grow alone with out me worrying about my babies.

Bought the ORIGINAL kit from EB--used the one time fertilizer and dolomite. Followed the instructions to the "T" for tomatoes. USE MIX--MIX--MIX. Not soil. If your EB isn't working...it's your dirt.

Never had a bad result. Started with clones.
