early sampling to test bud

Well im about 60 days into flowering and i was wondering if I cut a branch to dry and sample can that cause my plant to hermie even if everything else is okay and stress free? Also if i do decide to go this route when should it be done around my watering schedule? (before i water/after i water) Also when is the best time of day to do this? i assume as soon as my lights come on? Im asking to figure out what way will cause the least amount of stress to my beautiful lady. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!! to see my grow u can click the link in my signature

It won't stress her out enough to hermie on you. I like to do it just about a day after watering simply because my dry area isn't very good so if I don't allow her to suck up some water before I chop it down it'll dry out on me to fast to get a good cure. I also like to do chop some down for sample just as lights are about to be turned off because the plant recovers faster during lights out

Just clip off a couple popcorn buds, or 1 regular one and try it.
Yes, right at lights on, and I would say right before watering, so there is less moisture in the stems.

even if it did hermie (which I say with confidence it wont) by the time the pollen sacks form, then burst, then pollinate and then form seeds... the plant would be soo far past its peak harvest time it would be ridiculous. let the test bud dry properly preferably in its own time and not in the oven or it will be mostly a waste

chopping a branch wont make your plant hermine unless it is very very stressed, and as others have said its a bit late to be making pollen now.

I clip the worst buds (furthest form the light & slowest growing) dry them and smoke them in the weeks before harvest, ok the potency isn't representative of your finished bud but the flavour is

dude you have gotten this far , i wouldn't chop any off until you know its time , you will regret it if you do and seems madness as you are nearing the end now .

chopping buds to test is kind of pointless. by the time the bud hang dries and then cures in a jar, you will be harvesting the whole plant. quick drying buds only leads to harsh, planty taste with barely any taste of the strain. the true flavor and smoke of the buds only comes out after a careful cure.

don't harvest early, you will regret it. let them continue to plump out and ripen. harvesting half the plant and letting the popcorn buds get light is okay, but doesn't really do much and is a waste of electricity especially if you have girls in veg who are ready to go.
