Earliest outdoor harvest

IMG_1743.PNG IMG_1735.JPG IMG_1704.PNG IMG_1674.JPG How's it going. First time grower here wondering how soon can a plant be ready to harvest outdoors. I've had mine out since the 3rd week of May. Got them as clones and have 6 in 7gl smart pot and 3 in 20gl. One started flowering in mid July and most at the end of July. They're budding like crazy!!!! They're all sticky and stanky covered in trichomes. Nine different strains also.
 
Keep checking the trichomes with a scope to watch the Amber, for ideal THC level of plant for harvest. They make scopes for iPhones, and a decent 100x on Amazon (or local grow store) is about $30-70 dependent on type. Essential as it magnifies what your naked eye does not always see. Each strain is different, I check several buds on each plant from different locations for an overall representation. You can not grow wrong with a scope. Won't even go onto being in tune with your plant and intuitive organic growing. Nuff said...
 
Lol, our outdoors is normally ready in April. But I will be harvesting next month after doing an outdoors winter grow.
Everything so far exceeded my expectations.
 
4 weeks most likely
Maybe a week earlier for a different strain or 2
Look really good for 20 gallon pots
When u think they are ready wait 7 more days if there is no rain forecast...u will be amazed how much extra weight you gain waiting one more week when YOU think they are ready :)

Wait, where are you located that your plants are r day in April? That's amazing I wanna be there lol I'm Canada so usually oct for me
 
You still have at least 4 weeks to go, no need to check the color of your trichomes until the white pistils recede. Try to avoid what almost every first timer does by harvesting too early. Keep an eye out for worms and bud rot, and keep doing what you're doing. They look good.

The earliest plant I've harvested was an Oregon Diesel. Had about 15% amber trichs on Sept 10.
That said.. if I have any amber trichcolms and the weather is going to turn to shit and dump rain on them... I'll take a plant a week to 10 days early.

Yeah man, I have 4 and I have to move on sept. 25th I'm flushing next week with flora clean and then R.O. Water the week after. Hairs are 15% amber and trichs are cloudy. Think it will come out potent?
 
hey, can i join in on the conversation? i`m a dumb novice, learning as i go, but i just had an emergency situation when i discovered whiteflies, pressure washed, then applied a soap and water spray. i was already looking around for how to focus in on the trichomes without a loupe and am trying to use a magnifying glass (which is misplaced right now) and celphone camera. but my problem is this. the plant still had a lot of white hairs, maybe 50-50 white-red, but after the washing i see absolutely no white hairs. i must have blown them right off. can someone look at my buds and tell my if you think i should just chop em down and suffer the loss hopefully praying and getting something decent at least? thanks. it seemed the red hairs stil hadn`t curled in much, like the buds still had some maturing to do, they`re fat but not very dense.
 
here are the pics. like i said, i don`t have the luxury of judging white-red hair ratio cuz i think i blew off the whites. and i may have damaged trichomes too, according to some people`s belief on washing buds at least. so i`m just thinking chop it down and see if it`s smokeable at all. thanks in advance for any advice.

Looks like a couple more weeks will do you some good.

And for future reference, washing picked bud in a weak H2O2 solution doesn't hurt the buds. Pressure washers do.
 
I have already picked a few of my plants due to bud rot. But the Ass Cheese {donkey kong X cindy's blue cheese} was real close to be being ready. A week away at the most.
 
thanks for the reply, too larry. so you think waiting a few weeks will give some time to maybe bounce back after the shock i put it through? i did the same to others, maybe a little less invasive, and it looks like after 2 days now some white hairs are appearing once again.

Weed is tough. Most likely it will bounce back. You will get more weight and better THC levels if it is closer to ripe. You've got it this far, you might as well wait for it to get ripe. {assuming no worms, PM or rot}
