I have been growing ebb&flow for two years now, and have had decent success. I study alot, and feel I am almost ready to no longer call myself a noob.
I was thinking the other day about what I have learned and how far I have come. Thank you RIU, and other boards, for all the advice.
I also came to the conclusion that their are 3 specific things I acquired during my training these paast two years that I would NEVER EVER grow without....and that is the advice I give you today.....if you are going to grow in ebb&flow get these three things, and your will be very pleased:
1) RO water....I didn't believe the hype either, but I switched to RO just to see, bought at Wal-Mart, and it is the only way to go. I can pH a nute soup on Monday to 5.68, and come the next Monday when I change out, it is like 5.73, and there is little to no flux during the week. SIMPLE SIMPLE SIMPLE. Worht the investment (I spend US $4.07 a week on mine)
2) A small res. I started using a 10 gallon res on my table like 2 grows back, and it is amazingly efficient. I still run 10 plants to a table. I use WAY WAY WAY less nutes and RO water. I only have to buy 10 gallons of RO a week at Wally World, so that doesn't look suspiscious. Get a smaller res, you will not regret it.
3) A high end pH meter. Fuck any pen. Invest in a constant monitoring, high quality, pH/eC/ppm tester. They are a life saver. I can't imagine not having one now. Best money I have spent in my whole grow. More valuable to me than even my lights!!!
Anyway, this is my 2 cents worth.....hope it helps somebody.
