e$cobar vs. soma, who's NYCD is better?

Price would suggest soma's. Anyone tried both. I don't want to hear how NYCD is not as good as the Sour or the East coast (unless your offering me a clone). I already know this! Thanks

Got a pack of escobars but hvnt popped em yet, I went w. his bc I cldnt find somas in stock in regular form anywhere. I'm the kinda person that wld always get the original bc I feel like if u want let's say white widow then it dsnt make sense to go w.dinafem or elsewhere bc that's not the real deal, it's some1 else's interpretation of it. But w.the nycd from Escobar it is an f3, not his "version" of it. I guess in my opinion wld be if u want the selection id go w.f1's from soma but good luck finding em in reg, n if u do plz let me know where at!

e$kob@r is highly respected, I don't think there is any comparison between him and Soma. I would go with e$ko every time.

I think the biggest difference between the two is the selections each used for breeding.
I've smoked Soma's, it leans more on the Sativa side of things, but still has some stone to it.
I haven't smoked Esko's NYCD, but it states on his webpage that he bred this selection to be more Indica leaning.
So it depends if you like the head change of a Sativa dom or the body high of an Indica.
I hope that helps, good luck.

so is escobar a DNA breeder? i saw mention of chocolope. i see his name get dropped all of the time, but don't see any seed sales under that brand name. if he is a DNA breeder, then he can't be that bad as all 3 DNAs i've tried have been total quality and not one dimensional novelties.

i'd like to try esko's gear if it's that good and i knew where to get it. some breeders just have a knack for selecting or at least great connections to top gear by others. quality does vary from breeder to breeder.

so where is esko's line? if he's "breeder's choice" at sannies, his gear doesn't sound as interesting as jack f7 or especially killing fields if only it had a different name

SOMA's gear sounds more my style though if it's less indica though i doubt my buddha's sister fem is going to make me too energetic. i don't even expect that from my last 2 BS x G13 haze regs if they're even still viable.

Esco is breeders choice. I have not grown them yet. He also suggest you can taste a little of the Chem D heritage. I hope someone chimes in that has smoked or even better grown both. I am open to it being better than the original (would be funny for the price), I want a comparison. Currently finishing a Paradise Acid, supposed to be Deisel. Smells like tangerine candy or something, not like any Sour D I ever smoked. Probly why they call it acid (doubt its cool as acid either). I'm not a big fan of the name game so it would be nice to know if I'm even gonna get NYCD buds.

Somas NYCD is one of the best especially his personal Pheno called Sweet! I have a cross of both the Soma NYCD aka Sweet X ECSD . AKA Sweet & Sour Diesel and its crossed to the Tahoe Alien but both of the diesel's are kill!!

i don't like "pure diesels" as in tastes like truck stop tarmac one bit as far as flavors go the two times i've encountered them. i don't know about sour D and question how something as vile tasting as the 2 diesels i've tried could produce something so organic and yummy tasting. i will say short stuff's onyx does have an awesome buzz, but you can match it with better tasting strains like jack's cleaner 2

Original East Coast Sour Diesel smells more like Grapefruit and heavy rubber/diesel smell. NYCD smells more like plain diesel. ECSD is also lighter in color and produces megamunchies.

You cant compare the guy that makes the seeds with the guy that refines it. If Soma Never made NYCD Esco would not have a few good varieties

I don't think we need to have a debate as to who is a better breeder, that's not exactly an easily measurable quality, and its actually not relevant in this case. The breeder's choice NYCD is an F3 of Soma's NYCD selected towards the indica leaning plants. If you want to do some broader pheno variety, more sativa leaning plants, or F1's, then you want Soma's. If you want a stonier buzz or need uniform plants for height-space reasons, then perhaps the NYCD F3 is what you want. I don't think you could really go wrong with either of those choices.

Breeder's Choice is a collection of Breeders that list beans on Sannie's site. I don't think Eskobar bred this NYCD.

Ding-ding-ding! You are correct sir!
The breeders choice NYCD is bred by Sannie and Knutsel. Some of Esco's Breeder's Choice strains are Cheeseberry and cheeseberry haze, Lady Kane, Walhalla, and I think he did work with Chocolate Rain but don't quote me there.
