Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Sentenced To Death

I think, whether you believe in it or not, capital punishment is humane. It's certainly more humane than indefinite imprisonment, because to say all life is precious regardless of quality is a little naive. You wouldn't tell a cancer sufferer, who was in their final stages, experiencing the most excruciating pain possible that the extra week or two they may live was so precious, that their choice to end their life early just wasn't possible. If you would, then it's possible you don't understand empathy. This is what the death penalty is, we are taking people who are so far beyond mental rehabilitation, that their life quality can never be anything more than suffering, and we essentially euthanize them to put them out of their perceived misery. Wether that misery is real or not, debatable.

Capital punishment is also used, in the very unlikely yet still possible chance that maybe one of these people can escape. They are seen to be such a danger, that the likelihood of them affecting more death is almost inevitable if they were to be free.

Capital punishment isn't "you killed, now we kill you". To frame it in that way, doesn't address the underlying issue of why it's instituted. Whether you agree that these offenders are incapable of rehabilitation is something that is definitely worth debating, we also need to look at the recent instances of people being proven innocent, who were convicted. But saying that killing a person who is a murderer, IMO doesn't really touch the heavier underlying issues for why we have capital punishment. Which, until we better understand human thought and emotions, I believe is a valid form of punishment.

And we all would get 2 ponies.

Let the bleeding hearts cry, and everyone else can move on. Government shouldn't have to do things like this. That fucker should all ready be dead.

Right. We don't live in a perfect world. Execute him. It's the only option IMO.

Ok this is a little off subject.. But a while back at vegas glass expo Salt (the glass blower) had a crazy T-rex oil rig on display that was stolen. The last known pictures of the bong was in dzhokhar hands.. kind of a stupid fact, but in heady glass world it was crazy.
I know the dude who sold his older brother a ball of fishcale the day before the bombing. That motherfucker still owes me $200.

my family members planned on attending and at the last minute decided not to go.

i could easily be one of the grieving families right now.

he confessed, we know he was there, it was voted unanimous..i'm good with that.

unfortunately, he will never be the person he could have been, but neither those people he killed.

You're right, he will never reach his potential, but could he ever have been able to overcome his psychological sickness to reach it in the first place?

i'm talking about his reasoning ability..he is not who he is yet. now he never will be.

indoctrination at an early age and you can get anyone, to do anything.

Exactly, which is why we need more information into how our minds work, so one day we can help these people instead of killing them.

men are zygotes until they are 30.
I'm not 30, and I function outside a womb!
that is the one thing to be taken into consideration: age

he's still basically an emo teen.
While he is young, it is worth noting that it's easier to manipulate his thinking into doing horrible things, but it's hard to tell if he is capable of recovery. We need to study the minds of similar cases, such as Lee Malvo. Someone of similar age, committing similar acts, who appears to have rehabilitated.

Life in prison gives an opportunity for new evidence to come to light.

If even ONE innocent person is executed for every 1000 criminals, that to me is unacceptable.

in typical death penalty cases, i agree. this is the one exception. he was there.. oh! and he did confess:wink:

I'm firmly against the death penalty. It's cruel, dumb, stupid, etc. And I hope the US abolishes it ASAP.

But not before we kill this little sub-human Muslim terrorist piece of shit. He pre-planned the mutilation and torture of many Americans; children among them. And as much as I hate the death penalty, I'd like to be the one to insert the needle into his arm and push the plunger.

Please, can I?
