Well I tried to take the plants out of their pots to check out the roots but they're not there yet. Growing well now and I've started adding more nutes. They all got 800ml of a half dose of the kelp feed and 1ml/L each of AN 3-part with a bit of dextrose for the bio-herd. A watering tonight of 600ml I gave them a bit of CalMag.

The Dyno plant is definitely showing faster growth and was just at 14" tonight with the others at 12.5" so it's gaining on them. Took them out of the tent for better pics. Used the tripod and my reading lamp with a 5000K LED bulb for decent lighting without a flash. I use a Nikon Coolpix L32 20.1mp then crop and resize the pics in my PC using a very old version of Paint Shop Pro.

I think it's time to top them again and once the new tops grow out after 10 days or so they should be ready for up-potting in prep for flowering a week or two later.

A few days ago I carefully nipped the tops off the tallest grow tips so 2 each on the DynoMyco and Control but the Dugout one only had one tall one so just the one on it. Height has only changed a half inch since the last update but they are starting to bush up in the middle more after the topping so hopefully in a week they'll be all ready for repotting.

Strange burn or something on the tip of a finger on the DynoMyco plant. Must have been in contact with the COB or something but would have been further up on the leaf I would think and burns are usually tan/brown, not red like this. I don't spray anything on the plants and it's too high up to be splashed while watering. Odd.

Sorry I missed my mid-week update but we had to go to the city for a couple of days for the wife to have a days worth of medical testing and just got worn out with the trip and nothing much to report until very early this morning when I repotted the girls. Root porn to follow!

Growth has slowed right down with all three of them. Partly because I pinched the tops of all of them and partly because as I suspected they were getting root-bound. Some of the older leaves are not looking great as a result so will be selectively defoliating the plants once they are getting in gear after they settle into their new homes. I only went from a #1 pot to #2s as there just isn't enough room in the grow tent for bigger pots and I need to start my autos for outside this summer. The DynoMyco™ plant got 1/4 tsp mixed in with the new soil and some sprinkled on the top of the soil and watered in for the rootball to sit on. I also sprayed the outside of the rootball with water then sprinkled some all around the exposed roots especially up near the top where fine roots were poking out all over. Should see some rapid growth out of her very soon then in about 3 weeks another repotting and into the flower room a week later.

The standard pair of pics while still in the old pots. 17" for the Dyno plant and just 16" for the other two.

290522B.JPG

Now for the root porn!

Fresh out of the pots and they all look very close to the same to me. Normally I would do one at a time but it's easier to see side-by-side like this.

290522C.JPG

Some scary root porn coming up so be warned as some may find this triggering!

Slicing off that mass of roots at the base of the ball causes the upper portions of the roots to branch out with thousands of new feeder roots that fill the pots from top to bottom with a web of fine roots. I did a side-by-side of my own trying this years ago and now I do it at each repotting as it really made a difference in growth rates and yields.

290522D.JPG

Now they are all tucked into the bigger pots with some fresh ProMix HP and my manure mix watered in with 1ml/L of REMO VeloKelp. Should get them going full blast now.

Until next time.

Everyone is looking good after the transplant and roots were poking out of drain holes on all of them after 2 days so all is well.

NewRoots01.JPG

No real gain in height but not expecting any as they all got topped including the taller side branches so they are filling out now as lower nodes begin growing more rapidly. The seem happy tho.

The plants seem really happy and are all doing well. Height has increased 2" since the last time with the control and the DynoMyco plant each at 20" and the other just an inch shorter.

The Dyno plant seems the happiest tho it doesn't seem to translate in the pictures. It just seems more vibrant and wanting to take off but I think they are all limited by the lighting and other conditions in the grow tent. I should have space in the grow room soon then I can repot them again into 4gal pots and get them under some HID light with space to grow.

I'm going to need to widen my table soon so they don't fall off. :)

It's getting near time to repot these girls and get them flowering. Starting to get very crowded in my little grow tent so now that the only 4x8' tent on the market that is shorter than the standard 80" everybody sells is on sale for under $200Can I think I'm gonna go for it. Getting too warm upstairs already so I can't make more space there and with plywood at over $100 a sheet, (I need 4 +some 2x4s) the tent is the cheapest and easiest way to go. I've been planning to expand so already have a new 8" inline fan, oscillating fans and a pair of 600W digital ballasts with bulbs and reflectors to have it up and running within a few hours of getting the tent.

Anyway the girls are doing fine but eager for more space. The Dyno girl seems to really be moving on up and I expect her to shine once they get larger pots and a new home.

Pretty late with this update but I've been off my feed for a while. The plants are still chugging along and I hope to be able to move them and prep them for flowering soon. Already 24-26" tall so I pinched the tips on all three yesterday to slow them down a bit.

I'm having to stand on a chair to get the top shot now.

Getting late on this update but haven't been doing well. Totally got behind on watering and all 3 girls were badly dried out when I caught it. They had all been watered to saturation a couple days, maybe three, earlier but it had been getting up to 90 in the tent even with the door wide open and the RH was around 35.

Lost a lot of leaves on two of them but the Dyno plant only had a few bad ones and bounced back much faster. Now I'm wondering if it's thanks to the DynoMyco maybe making more roots that had more water in reserve tho the plant was all hanging down as bad as the others.

This is after bottom watering 500ml each with warm, aerated RO water to re-hydrate them. Later I gave them a full soak with nutes and removed all the badly damaged leaves. The Dyno plant is now 28" tall and the others each at 26". Too damn tall and spindly because of the crowded conditions in the tent.

Stuff like this is why I don't defoliate. The plant steals resources from those fan leaves to protect the growing tops so without that reserve the tops will suffer but the top growth is still good on all of them.

040722B.JPG

Good news tho. I got them a new home or should I say a better one at least. I cleaned out the grow room downstairs and finally got around to painting out the brown stripes on the walls from when I removed the shelving 20 years ago the day after we took possession. 20 freakin' years to get around to a small paint job but it's rare that there isn't a bunch of plants in there.

Anyways, they are spreading their wings under a nice 400W Hortilux MH light now. Just one from moving in day then some fresh ones I took 5 min ago.

090722A.JPG

Fresh out of Paint Shop Pro after cropping and resizing. Keeps the file size under 1MB.

Still have to finish that paint job but good enough for now. Those damn stripes took 10 coats to hide them and I can still make them out. Damn sight whiter than the old paint that always looked white to me. :)

NewSpace120722A.JPG

They are all perking up real nice but got taller than I planned waiting for room so I think I'm going to up-pot them and cut them back 3 or 4" each. Then give them about 10 days under a 600MH to get the foliage growing and lots of roots then flip to flower. At least that's a plan I'm looking at. Thoughts?

NewSpace120722B.JPG

I forgot to angle the grow light right as I leaned over one-handed to take this shot. Little dark on the top.

NewSpace120722C.JPG

I got my fem autos planted 10 days ago and stirred in a heaping tsp of DynoMyco at the spot the plant would go. A couple gallons worth or so of soil. Then a half tsp in the holes for the plants and watered in with some carbs and VeloKelp. All doing great now and budding up already but sprouted first week of June.

DynoPic.JPG

Pic from today. Found deer tracks in the garden last week so I doubled up some tomato cages to protect the plants for now. Took the pipe cleaner ties off them too. They can't go far over in the wind with the cages around them. Getting strong legs.

Pic from last night after some watering. The one top right is 14" tall already from 7" when planted. They seem to like my soil mix.

All for now. Thanks for looking in.

Between running to doctors and off to the city for tests for me and the wife I'm still behind on everything. Zero energy most of the time and a lot of time laying in bed.

Almost 2 weeks ago I chopped the plants back a bit and am almost ready to repot and get them flowering. I prepared 2-16L pots with straight ProMix HP with Gaia Green nutes mixed in then a 3rd one with the same nutes but 5g of DynoMyco added. On an overnight trip to the city this week I picked up some earth worm castings so want to remix each pot with a couple cups of EWC added to each.

4galPots.JPG

All looking a little shabby from waiting around but will pick up and bush out as soon as they get into their new homes.

How’s the side by side coming along? Should be full blown flowering by now?

I was kinda hoping nobody would ask but it's all over now.

The last few months I've been having health problems that are tentatively diagnosed as MS and I'll be having an MRI in mid-Nov to find out for sure. I'm lucky if I have a couple hours a day when I can manage to do anything but stare at a screen and just totally forgot about the plants to the point they dried up enough to kill them. This has been getting gradually worse for the last 10 years or so but with the crappy doctors we get up here nobody put the clues together. Getting clumsy, vision problems, constant fatigue, parts of my body going numb/tingly/burning, muscle spasms, major intestinal and urinary problems, brain fog etc.

Lost other plants in my veg tent too around the same time so since then my wife asks me a couple times a day whether anything needs doing downstairs so I don't screw them up again. Was going to go water and spray some STS last night and forgot but took care of that this afternoon. Did forget the veg tent up here so better check that right away. Don't want to lose my moms.

So, sorry about this @aridynomyco but the plants died a month ago now. The control one had a few tops that came back after watering but nothing on the others so I scrapped all three.
