Dyna Grow Nutes

What kind of tips did you need?
I don't kow lol! I just know that in my life if I knew then what i know now, it would make it a whole lot easier! I notice you do not use (maybe you do?) root accels or root protectors, things like that..I'm thinking of the hormux, root excelurator, hydroplex (vits and aminos)... But you do like the pro-tect... Any thoughts on that?

MR Green Thumb: Yea 27 pages is alot to digest, I find it helps me since I'm learning I can get alot of other tips besides the main thread topic and I get the full picture of the main topic as well, little tweaks, observations of the grower, and how and what to look for...

The DG line of nutes to me isn't drastically better or worse (it is pretty damn good) but the main idea is that wow it does compete, differently, both lines pperform well, DG at lower cost. As well, it was a 1st run with DG, many ppl have ran with GH in the past and tweaked it, kown what to look for etc, so that runnin with DG in the future should only get better...

yes homebrewer is was, thank you. This is interesting about dg... did you know gh flora nova is ph stable also? But there is no comparison of the price.
I have no experience with floranova since I've always just used the flora series. Floranova is almost twice as expensive as dynagro, provides 9 fewer essential minerals and at best is just as concentrated.

So you just used the GH lucas formula or the GH feeding chart?
I used my own recipe using the 3part and about 5 other additives with excellent results. Eight bottles is why I was interested to test a simpler nute line.

Did you use a blossom booster or just the bloom food?
They offer a product called magpro which is a booster of sorts, but is more intended for people using RO water. The NPK ratio on the DG bloom formula is such that you don't need PK boosters, there is no room for them. You'll either just burn your plants or waste nutes.

The only root thing I use is Great White at the moment and that is just a test in one of my trays. My roots are contained in rockwool blocks so as long as I keep those blocks free of salt build up and don't over/under water, I can assume my roots are fine. If I was in DWC or NFT, maybe I'd look into more root stuff.

On a small scale, you're right. GH and DG performed very close to one another. But the little things like cost, pH stability, ease of use, and the final product is what sold me and makes my life easier on the scale that I grow on. DG is sold in containers up to 15 and 55 gallons, that tells me it's not just produced for kiddie closet growers, this is the stuff that's used to fuel a hydroponic warehouse full of veggies that you'll eventually find at your local supermarket. It's seriously professional grade.

On the flipside, I use botanicare pure blend pro in the dirt which contains only 5 essential elements along with some organic jazz and it does just fine. My point is that there are a lot of fertilizers out there that 'get the job done' and it's just a matter of using the one that fits you best.

I'm currently finishing up a 'DG in the dirt' test and should have some final results in a week or two. Pics going up today in my journal.

Homebrewer: You're kinda sellin me on Dyna gro! Im using GH lucas right now because im noob and money is tight (1st grow) but dyna gro (after reading your thread) seems to be kick ass and priced the cheapest around right now. The concentration is great since I'm using 40 gal rez's (x2) for two ebb/flows (40 gal each). Can you post your recipe of dyna gro and supplements you're using?

I know you have dyna gro, pro-tect in there now, what else and what amounts for flower are you using with happy success?

Also, is there a label for DG that I can snag, I have this spreadsheet that I created that breaks down all of the N-P-K values, and trace into PPM's, adds em all up and spits out the full recipe values for whatever nutes you put in there, pretty slick (let me know if you'd like to see it and I'll send). The values have to be placed in there manually (ie: %N, %P, %K, % trace etc)and the values have to be known for the nute that is input. Right now I have GH Bllom, Grow, Micro, Calmag, B'zuzz AB, and working on Dynagro and Aqua Flakes but can't seem to find the labels.. It also takes into account the density of the nute, the Elemental amount of P and K...

I use the grow (7-9-5), bloom (3-12-6), magpro (2-15-4) and Pro-Tekt (0-0-3). The problem with my feeding schedule is that my water is a touch hard, yours may not be. What works for my one strain doesn't work for another. In general, I feed between 1.5 and 2 EC and like to use both the grow and bloom in the flower stage. It acts as a 2 part and different ratios of the liquids results in different NPK values. For example (based on ppm, not volume), for the first 3 weeks, I like to run 40% grow and 60% bloom which roughly results in a 1-2.4-1.25 ratio. As the weeks pass, I'll gradually scale the grow down until I'm at about 10% for the final week or two. Sometimes I'll cut out grow completely during the last few weeks as the plant's nitrogen needs are already being met. It's really a matter of looking at the plants and knowing what they need.

Not included in my percentages above is magpro and protekt. I always add 5mls/gallon of protekt and about 1ml/gallon of magpro. One ml of magpro per gallon contributes about 100ppm and my 1ml/gallon dose is because I have harder water. If I had soft water, I may be at 2mls/gallon. Basically, magpro for me never makes up more than 10% of my total ppms. Hope this helps.

Just came back from 2 hydro stores and they did not carry the dyna gro or bloom, they did however have the pro-tekt and the neem oil, I let them know that the same company that makes those two great products also make dyna gro bloom and grow and they may carry the stuff soon next order.

My local store had to order all my DynaGro nutes for me as they only carry the Neem product. Hopefully my interest in DG will make them carry a few of their products in the future.

Hey Rob, is that the HydroBuddy program? I am trying to input the DG info into the thing now, still playing around with it tho. I was wondering if you have the density # figured out? That would be a helpful piece of info. Jus askin... thanx.
