Dyna Grow Nutes

I am no too familiar with dyna grow nute line and wanted to open up this thread to discuss it, anyone familiar with it? I was planning on using House &Garden nutes for next grows, but it is costly...Thought this would be a good alternative... Any thoughts?

I am also planning on using, using it turns out, some of their products (i think ther products), their Pro Tekt and Mag Pro.

I used Dyna-grow on a couple of my gardens and had excellent results. PH stayed constant and yields were exceptional. Havent been able to get my hands on anymore from around here but I am going to work on getting some! The other products Ive tried just dont compare to Dyna-Grow and Dyna-Bloom ! Hope this helps ?

My GH lucas ya know I can't say anything bad about it, everything looks good for my VERY FIRST GROW! Actually it looks phenomenal, 4 weeks in and the bud formation is gettin fat, buds forming on upper, lower and mid branches, its a sativa so leaves arent gettin in the way as much. One minor issue I had and I think I cleared it up was some yellowing of the leaves, so I added some epsom salts, H2O2 and put more nutes in to bring it to full strength.

My only thing is I just know there are higher performance nute systems out there and I want to try em lol! So I orig looking at House and Garden, and now dynagrow. I want to go organic this round as well...

try to use the search engine theres like 5 or 6 threads about it

That thread was amazing. It seems dynagro competes well with GH nutes and is about half the price. Dynagro is really concentrated form and stretches a long way. I would also supplement the line of nutes with florabloom and liscious as the thread seemed to guide to...

Hows that working out with your grows? Are you using the bloom, grow and protekt? Be interested in your recipe you use. I am doing ebbflow now, but wanted to switch to a DIY aeroflo, wondering if it would work in that system or clog it all the hell up...?

I'm still new..... I hope to pop some seeds next week.

My DR 120 II tent should be here Friday and my inline fan, temp/hygro gage, carbon filter, and light hangers should be here next week.

I have lights (600 hps, T5 HO, and CFL's), air and water pumps, net pots, totes, flood trays, clay balls, rockwool, ph and tds meters, 24-hour and cycle timers, and enough components to build 3 different hydro systems (bubble, aero, and flood/drain).

I bought Dyna Grow, Dyna Bloom, Mag-Pro, ProTekT, KLN, and Neen Oil.

Beans are LSD and White Widow.

Nice setup and gear! Are you planning on RO water? I just got mine from purewaterclub 100 GPD Ro unit and all the fittings. I then got a 55gal blue plastic drum rez used (had foodstuffs in it), cleaned it out and using for my rez for the RO on a floatvalve. The system was so easy to setup, hooked into my bathroom sink, fill and waste, sunk a pump into the rez and done!

I still want to add a switch to the tubing that I can on off the pump for top offs.

Sweet, I've started to look at RO systems as a future upgrade.

Our house was built 50 years ago and everything is old (electrical boxes and water pipes).
I tested the tap water with my cheap meters @ Ph 7.2 and 190 ppm
Tap water after going through a refrigerator water filter tested @ Ph 6.9 and 170 ppm

Thats not a bad ppm for tap, it is basically your option to get the ro and drop the ppm to 0. My ppm was 750 one week, tested recently and it was 550. I'm close to the treatment plant so that prolly makes a difference. I think anything under 250 ppm (@0.7 conversion) is decent for tap.

Sometimes too your city will publish the tap water report and list the results, try to find that or take a sample to a fish store to find the Ca, Mg, Flouride thats in there...

After I pay off the credit card, I may have to get an RO. Starting from 0 ppm sounds nice.

Florabloom is GH's bloom formula which is not needed when using DynaGro liquid bloom formula. Floralicious Plus can be added for an increase in resin production but it's not necessary, the final product seems unaffected but for some reason, I keep using it .

I've been working with DG for several crops now and REALLY like the results. It's easy to use, 'pH perfect', cheap, and is giving me slightly better yields than GH. I've found it works well in dirt but I mainly use it in my flood and drain systems. When you put all the marketing and hype aside for a lot of plant foods out there, it's about the minerals contained in the bottles and DG delivers those at a reasonable price.

I've also found that the grow and bloom formulas together in different ratios work incredibly well at keeping your plants green all through flower. For the first few weeks, I like to use about 1/3 grow and 2/3 bloom formula. Mid grow I switch to about 20% grow and towards the end, I add about 1ml/gallon of grow to my res just to keep things green. Anyways, it's good stuff.

Homebrewer: great thread on Dyna nutes, i read the entire thread after Ltdan gave me the link. Your documentation and knowledge is simply amazing. I am starting out and have a flood/drain system going with Lucas..

Any tips? Also, any plans on doing another nute lineup grudge match. There are so many pricey ones, would be interesting to see how some stack up against the lower cost underdogs. Pricey in my mind are: Dutchmaster, H&G (not too bad really if you use other brand substitution), Advanced Nutrients, yellow bottle, hmm any others?

What kind of tips did you need?

Nute comparisons are fun but when you understand a little about what your plants need, you no longer have to compare the nutes in a 2 month long test, you can just look at the backs of the bottles. That being said, the back of the bottle wont tell you about the potency, salt build-up or pH stability. So in those regards, actual tests are helpful. I would be interested in testing one other nute company, but it would be more to show how they are all marketing hype. But I don't want to give them a dime of my money so that one will have to wait. Currently I'm testing Great White Beneficials in my flood and drain system and depending on how it goes, I may start a journal for my next round.

so in short instead of reading the 27 page thread then dg is better or just as good as gh? I use gh flora nova feeding chart with great white, silica blast, prozyme, bud candy, and bud xl, and since i started using the great white in I see a huge difference in my roots. They dont stretch out all stringy like. They colonize and make a huge ball of white roots. I use dwc so its easy for me to monitor my roots.

I have been thinking about using dg because of the price and simplicity also but am still unsure since my method is working just fine..and if it aint broke dont fix it right?

I'm not sure if this is a question for me. In short, both brands did very well but DG came out on top because of it's pH stability, easy of use, cost, yield, and potency of the final product. I still have about 12 months worth of GH nutes left and am happy to use them in half of my tables. The other half is getting DG which I now prefer, but I have much respect for GH.

yes homebrewer is was, thank you. This is interesting about dg... did you know gh flora nova is ph stable also? But there is no comparison of the price. So you just used the GH lucas formula or the GH feeding chart? What color is the dg nutes? Did you use a blossom booster or just the bloom food? I know DG does not offer a blossom booster but it has high p and k value already.
