However despite some similarities I don't really think Cannabis flowering nute requirements to be the same as a large fruiting plant like a tomatoe or a banana. If anything seems closer to a smaller fruiting plant like hops or a grain.

It depends on which GH formula your talking about but the flora nova has a much better cal mag level than any dyna grow.
4%cal 1.5% mag compared to the hydro weak formula of 2%cal-.5% mag of the dyna grow hence your need to add and blend so many
products to the nutrient formula you call complete. How many things do you use in your grows?.. quite a few if my memory of your
runs is correct with your so called complete formula. potasium silicate and mag pro come to mind as well as blending grow and bloom ratios.
Of course the flora Nova has a better N-k ratio that more closely resembles most commercial agriculture formulations as well.
Of course Dyna grow initially gives a major change to ph when added to the tank unlike say Ionic
but I usually don't like to pay for water (Ionic).

You'd be surprised how simple I've made it these days, but this isn't really the place to get into that.

I definitely would not relate the requirements to a banana I( think we need crop specific
testing done like other crops get. I would put t some wear in between general herbs 1-1 nk
and tomato high k probably 1-1 n-k in veg just a little more k in bloom but i could be wrong
and will look into tissue analyses to help guide things.
P.S I cant seem to post fatmans tests. I would like it if he would chime in.

has anybody actually done NPK trials with Cannabis? Tissue analysis is only usefull in conjunction with corresponding NPK trials.
would love to see some!
 
After years of playing with different NPK values, this is what I use from start to finish on cannabis. "Too much N and not enough P," right fellers?

It's a 12 month slow release. Work it into the soil, done.

It's great from start to finish in promix and these days I like it better than their 7-9-5.

It is a 20-6-22. I've used Gro in the past and have been using Foliage Pro lately. I can't comment on which one is better from my own experience, but Homebrewer has good results with FP and explicitly prefers it to Gro.

What do you do for ph down? After I mix DG Grow/Bloom and Pro-Tekt, my ph is usually 6.8. If I use no pro-tekt, I can get close to 5.8... 6... If I use enough base + protekt to lower ph, I will get nute burned.

I have not had a problem with not enough N using DG Grow or Bloom. In fact, my last crop was wayyy dark green even at harvest using Bloom.

Also, I was reading about the ammonia nitrate discussion, and a lot of us run bacteria and fungi and nematodes in hydro with unsterilized water.

I use RO water which has little-to-no buffering capability. I just find a ratio of protekt-to-base to put my pH in the range I like. It sounds like you're using tap so you may need a little pH down initially? Using good, clean, balanced water is key for hydroponic growing, IMO.

EDIT: I should add that I do use pH up and down on occasion, I just used to buy that stuff by the gallon because the GH 3-part had a constant upward pH drift. So while it's true I still haven't bought any pH-ing solutions, those gallons I already had after switching to DG are just lasting forever these days as I rarely need them.

I prefer sterile.
