Well common sense and RIU do not go hand and hand, sorry for assuming that someone crying about an awesome nutrient that has sludge in the bottom, doesn't have "common sense" to shake them regularly or figure out why it is happening. I assumed, that was on me.
My bad. If it is not you, then your hydro store has an old supply (most likely as people shun DG and others for being "cheap") the monkeys think that if its good it has to be 30+ a bottle.
PS EVERY thing I buy at the nutrient store or online, when I first get it I put the date on the bottle with a sharpie, including equipment. This helps a medicated user like me remember when I bought it, which also lets me track the amount I go through in a time frame etc... If the date is on the bottle I also write that on in case the sticker gets lost.
I stopped in at my hydro store today and had a talk with the owner and an employee... they assured me that everything on the shelf is fresh.
They let me swap out my sludge bottle and pick up a new one. The owner wanted to try out warming up the bottle to see if the sludge would dissolve.
We came to the conclusion that the sludge was a storage issue, low temps... He said that they order "Envy" nutes that ship out of IL... in the winter they don't even order them anymore because during the shipment in cold weather (through the midwest) the bottles are exposed to cold temps and form crystals in the bottom.
My little storage area for nutes and such is pretty damn cold. No heat... This problem DID arise right when our temps dropped..
So, I got my fresh bottle of DYNA, free (like I said, my hydro guy is cool) and I will be storing it in an area that stays in the mid to low 70s, consistently.
Really dude, I'm not
crying about Dyna-Gro. I have been frequenting these DG vs AN threads lately because I was trying out DG and I felt like I could contribute to the discussion.
I had never even thought of dipping something into my nute bottle... i was surprised to hear that so many people are doing that... to me, that just seems like asking for issues to arise.
The problem with this discussion is that it seems everyone has already decided (indefinitely) which side they take... people "give DG/AN a try" or "do a side by side", but I don't think anyone frequenting these threads is truly interested in learning or finding answers... i also assume some of the folks in the discussion are on a payroll. I'm not pointing fingers, I am speaking of no one specifically... but if there isn't at least one person in these threads getting paid I would be surprised.
I'm dropping out of these discussions as I am neither of those... However, like I said, DG is an effective, very easy to use, low cost nute... I hit 18% over my previous highest yield.. maybe it was me excelling in skill over 6 months of a roughly 6 year indoor growing career, maybe it was the nutes... i don't know.
I tried out DG and I am still using it.. I am confident this
sludge/crystal thing will not be a problem now that I am storing my nutes at mid/low 70s... assuming that this solves the problem.. i will probably be using DYNA for quite some time.
I'm out of these nute threads...
