This will be my 2nd go around with DWC. First time I used a 5gal bucket. This time I am thinking of switching to the 10gal. tote so I can grow 2 or 3 plants a time. Can someone break the lamen's science of the tote system? How much water am I supposed to start with in it? (10 Gal tote & 3 plants) Then, once roots break ground should the same rule follow as 5gal bucket, keep water 1-2" below root system? Thanks alot folks.

If you don't have the water recirculating to the top of your baskets, then keep the water 1-2" below your baskets in your new container, you'll have a different amount of water depending on the size of the container. (I would suggest that you have a water pump - cheap $15 one will be all you need - so that the root ball in your basket gets a good amount of water rather than just using the roots at the bottom to soak it all up)

Also don't forget to upgrade your air pump, the more oxygen you can put into your res the better (you can never have too much oxygen, as it promotes plant growth and root health).
