Even if you don't go with advanced, maybe find a better base nutrient if you have the $ and definately a cal/mag supplement. Some strains are cal mag beasts. Atleast your still in veg Billy so you've only lost a bit of time. And also my experience from monster cropping is you have to veg for longer until you see full leaves coming through and then i give it a week minimum after that before I flip. I still see what I see. In my experience, a mag def usually throws other ph signifiers out, not always. Just looks like the only parts of the plants affected are the ones in the light. If it were mag, I would expect most of that new growth to be showing it way more. Just my experience.

You very well could be right... Just saying what I see.
 
Hey Billy, 3rd monkey has a good point. Maybe dim or move the light away from the tops also. You don't need alot of light in veg. Wont be helping your cause. I still think you have a magnesium deficiency but the intensity of the light is making it worse!? Let us know how you go.
 
problem #2: Mg deficiency. get some Epsom salts and foliar feed with that. once when lights come on, and then again 12hrs later. then for maintenance, add 1 gram per gallon to your nutes.

problem #3: stop the CO2 for now.
 
Hey rkymtnman! Was hoping for billys sake hed get some experienced members tune in!! I saw Billy state a few times he was running .8 EC. And judging by the size of the roots they are no longer newly rooted clones....? And I think he is also growing in a sealed room so he will have to supplement some co2....... didnt think of foliar spraying with epsom salt! Good one!

unless i missed it, i didn't see where he was saying the EC was going down, up or stable? i personally would rather run lower EC and see that it's dropping steadily. and then slowly raise the EC up.

even in a sealed room, i'd still open it up and let fresh air in until he's got everything dialed in perfectly. he's not at that point yet.
 
ya the Mg deficiency is probably from the light and as you said you haven't added calmag.
as said already get them some fresh air save the co2 for later on.your wife or mom probably has some epson salt.
 
Alrighty so it’s been a week and sadly no change....

I’ve stopped the CO2 supplementation and am just running fresh air in and out.

I added some of House and Garden’s magnesium additive and that seemed to make things worse, I only added 0.4ml/L, the instructions were 0.5ml/L.... took the EC up to 1.3 which I thought was too high.

2 days on and I flushed everything, replenishing with only the base nutrients, 0.9 EC.

The 2 largest plants have stopped growing entirely with very minimal root growth also, the 2 smaller plants are taking off very slowly but are still exhibiting damage.

I’m absolutely stumped, take a look at the photos I guess :/

I got frustrated and basically stripped one of the larger plants right back, hasn’t moved at all.

I’ve highlighted the progression of the damage, it starts with yellowing between the veins with rusty brown tips, the browning progresses very quickly until it turns WHITE, like white white.

Am I wrong in thinking this is possibly a potassium deficiency?

I'm pretty sure white at the tops of the plant is usually from light burn!? Bleaching. Looks like they've had some nute burn too. I'm pretty new to this site. Maybe 3rd Monkey knows a couple of guys he can bring to this thread to have a quick gieze? What's your ph? Is it gradually going up/down? Water ppm/quality? Roots still nice and white? Are the nutes your using definitely for hydro?

K is a mobile nutrient. Notice how the shaded areas at the bottom are a nicer green. If it was K, they wouldn't be.

Again, I think you need to raise your light.
 
Pics of your roots? Look off to me, no side roots coming off of main roots? Looks like spaghetti?
You mentioned co2 pumping into the air pump?
You’ll have to change things one at a time to find out what’s happening.
Raise the light. Say 40” at least to top of plant.
Your water as I said in my first post throws a big red flag. Can u change it to something else?
My water is hard. So I add calmag at 2ml per litre. This fixes my problems which look like yours.
Air stones how many and how much air are you pumping? Water level , just under net pots?
I use plain Jane nutes with added calmag ,200 ppm calmag ,800 food. I’m on .7 scale so convert to EC
I would also foiler feed with calmag at 1 ml per litre. Again that’s with hard water.
I know this doesn’t solve your problems but you have to start changing what u haven’t changed yet.

Also to add that light will give you root rot if it’s too close. So keep an eye on that.
 
Some other questions,stalks are they purple/red ish?What are adding for bennies/root rot?
Does it get cold at lights off?Fresh air like outside air.
We will figure this out,be patient.
Do you have another light ?Something less intense?
 
The leaves you took off do they come off easy?Like they would almost fall off by themselves?Or did you have to cut them off?
