Dwc question

Hi i just was wondering how many times i should be changin out my nutes i'am currently running a 4 pail system with air in each pail i give them nutes once a week ppm around 1200-1400 ph at 6.3-6.5 i don't fill the pails full my nutes levle is about 6" below the net pots but i also give them h202 every couple of days i also give them h202 with fresh water for 3-4 days and then give them nutrients for that weeek i think this will ease the transtion of nutes any suggestions will be great

Most people change water out every 7-10 days.

1200-1400 seems a little high,, How old are they?

6.3-6.5 is also high for Hydro. Should be more in the 5.8 range or your locking out pretty much all of the nutes.

6" below the net pots is a bit low.. Most people run about 1" below to avoid alot of core roots.

And why soo much H2O2? are you having a problem that would require using it?

Change it out every week. DWC water gets funky. I use H2O2 every day, but just a little to keep them sterile. Having very intense aeration helps a lot for fighting root rot. Putting your res outside the room will keep the temps down. If you have the solution too far below the netpots, you will have poor root contact with the solution. I get more yield when I keep them 1 inch below the bottom of the netpots. I have a system with a top off reservoir and a float valve. Keeps the solution exactly 1" below the netpots at all times.

hey guys the answer to your question is well the ppm are that because that's what the numbers are when i mix all nutes as i'am following a nute schedule for the ph the hydro guy told me that ph 5.5 6.0 the plants are not taken in much nutes but i will try your suggestion also i don't have a res just 4 pails with air stones to each one i will alos bring them up to 1" below net pot

i run many different strains in aero and dwc and never go above 750ppm in dwc. ur just wasting in dwc over that. i vary ph from 5.4-5.6 for first 2 weeks, then 5.7-5.9 for weeks 3-5, then 6.0-6.2 for the final weeks. this allows the plants to uptake more the nutrients that are crucial at different stages of flower. remember, you can always vary any ingrediants to fit the plants needs, dont always believe the hydro guy or go full strength from bottle recipes.

ok so should I cut the formula in half for example it say 35ml for 25 liter of water should I be mixing 17.5 ml for 25 liter or can I just mix the nutes according to the formula and then just add more water to bring down the ppm

Hello,

I run the same system as you and this is my set up.

3, 5 gallon industrial buckets with airstones in them.
3 weeks old, just potted them from their clone rockwool.
TDS (total disolved solids): 300 PPM 1-2 week of veg
PH: I always keep at 5.8
I change my water and nutes every 5-7 days( depending on how it's looking, you have to monitor it)
Humidity level 40%-45%
I use Advanced nutired grow part A and B
and will fower with Bloom part A and B
In the veg state I am also applying an H2o2 oxidizer but I only add 2 droplets every solution/water change.
I also add 2 drops of N-Cal-Mag since I am using R.O water and it lacks calcium and magnesium/magnese

It would help if we knew what nutes you are using, and how old your plants are.

but bring your ph down somewhere to 5.6-5.9, see how your plants react
got to bring down your ppm if your plants are young, even in flowering I personally would not go over 850ppm

hope this helps. Good luck.

Iam using holland secrete bada bing bada bloom bada bang but the problem I've got when I mix the nutes the are high because Iam their formula so get ppm down should I mix it all and add water to get it down or should I just the amount of nutes in half also do you give your plants freshwater during the weeks example one week nutes following week fresh water

always, give your babies fresh water when you are changing the solution. your PH must be between 5.6-5.9 , how old are they? that will give us a better ratio of what your PPMs should be.

Never use the nutrient package dosage. Always mix at 1/2 or 1/4 strength and slowly work your way up.

fully rooted? Do you see roots coming out the bottom of your rockwool?

if so, they're ready for a light feeding, start at 1/4 strength of what's recommended.

week three from seedling or from clone? 3rd week in veg?
