Ok I used aluminum tape over the top of the res, hopefully its light proof now. I also put up a few more cfls with reflectors on them like roseman has and they seem shine more light. Finally I put a rolled up wet towel on the res top along with 2 cups of water. Tomorrow I will grab a manifold and make an bubbleponics system.

yeah do the feeder tubes bro I dont think its ever too late and also if ur using one of those 18 gallon totes i think seven gallons in the res works great. wheres tha pics?

Whereas bubbleponics seems to be the preferred method to get beans off to a fast start in life, after a week or two of growth it's no longer needed and there's no difference between bubbleponics and DWC.
That being said, perhaps the extra water movement from the pond pump combined with your additional light-proofing and H2O2 treatments would help in your algae extrication.
Good luck - I'm also battling algae (very mild case), but that shit sucks.
