Dwc grow not taking up water

So I've started my first hydro grow, seed were germinated and plant was grown to about 12 inches tall by my friend using an aerograden, who then transplanted her to a pot with soil, then he gave me the plant, I then transfered plant to dwc, my nutrient water pH in 5 gallon dwc bucket is a steady 7 was at 6-6.5 till.i raised it to an even 7. Oh holding steady grow room temp at a steady 65-75 degrees given fact I gorwong in my apt, but the issue I am having and I'm at a loss as to what may be causing it, is the plant is not taking up water doesn't seem to be growing and or filling out in anyway but she does look healthy just not growing! The water is not needing to be refilled what should I do? How much water on average should a plant take you during the vegetative phase of growing ? I'm growing in clay pebbles

What is your light source? Judging by the photo, its the sun. The plant looks pretty stretched. I think that's your main problem there. I also grow DWC. For the first few weeks there isn't much water intake. It gradually increases as the weeks go. By flower they drink upwards of a gallon a day, most times more.

So what do you suggest ? And when you say it look stretched, is this good or bad? Shoild i top it so that it grows outward some more? And it not really drinking much right now during veg stage is this a problem or not ? I understand during flower it'll drink upwards of a gallon a day but how i am i going to get it to a good flowering point without it flourishing during veg stage ? Shoild I add am hps or led light with hopes the heat from any of the two cause it to in a way sweat and so drink ?

Usually it gets a lot more light at a different window and the oh before I upped it today, actually was at 5.8 was a beige color on the color scale on the ph tester, but I'll.try both more light with a lower pH. how.bout nutes, how do I know when I need to add or up the amount I put in the next water change ?

Do you have an EC tester?

EC = Electrical Conductivity

It's the standard way of measuring the concentration of nutrients in your solution. It's a requirement for DWC growing, or any hydroponic growing for that matter. You can also measure in PPM (parts per million) or TDS (Total Dissolved Salts), but EC is more of a standard.

Whats the root ball look like? Lower pH for sure. Are you going to put it outside or try to finish her inside? What is your RH%? I'd also get black air line tubing and get rid of the clear or you have a potential light leak. You should probably get an EC meter. What nutes will you be using?

Haven't checked root ball given fact roots and trunk in clay pebbles I'd have to remove all pebbles to check root ball last I remember it was white and hairy looking not really ball like
Using flora gro nutes
What's the rh? Sorry I'm a newbie
And I'm planning to finish her inside, was going to buy a tent with hps light soon to continue vegging, and eventually flower and tent to.keep odor down or non existent as well
As give plant light stromger hotter rays than what I'm getting through window

Why would you have to remove the hydroton to check the roots? Can't you just lift the top with the plant and take a look? They should be hanging down from the net pot into the water.

If you are having trouble keeping your water ph down.. try RO or purified water with a lower base ph.
Also.. what’s the temp of the water? I don’t do dwc.. but I know heater temp matters.

Since you don't even have roots coming out of the net pot you'd be better of just stopping with the DWC and transplanting that plant into a pot of soil. Then you won't have to worry about anything except giving it tap water when it needs watering and maybe some nutes occasionally when and if it gets bigger. The DWC is just making things unnecessarily complicated.

They won't be drinking yet if the roots are not coming thru the bottom. You can top feed until they start coming out. Get a tent and a light. If you live in a hot climate I would not recommend hps you will have a hard time keeping heat controlled. ALSO you need to read alot about how to grow
