If I had To start a DWC grow Bible or Guide or How too. Id start with the most important piece of information that i have learned to date. PH is Key= 5.8 is the number any DWC grower should strive to achieve and maintain at all times. Id tell anyone wanting to grow this style to get urself a PH tester or dont bother growing this style or any other style. Yes u can grow DWC without one but to do it well n completely maximize ur buds potential use a PH tester or dont bother growing at all. Well hope this helps. If i missed anything please feel free to ask if i can help ill try.

you think same applies to aero? 5.8 ph?

5.8 and 5.9 are the "magic numbers" for the most nutrient uptake in hydro.

Some ppl say don't sweat trying to keep it perfect.
I want and keep mine at 5.8/5.9 at ALL times.
I'm also fortunate to have a stable rez.
If I add water or nutes, I make sure the ph matches the 5.8 or 5.9 of my rez first.
The whole 5.5 - 6.5 thing is just your minimum and maximum range, respectfully.
With 5.7 - 6.0 being even more ideal. And 5.8/5.9 being on point.

there's always your basic rules to anything that have to be followed,I grew outside for years until I got some very nosey neighbors and now I have to grow indoors, growing outdoors for me was a breeze never had any major problems, indoors on the other hand is a new learning exsperence for me,I started with a set up I seen on youtube with an 18 gal tote etc.after learning that the tote was way to hard to maintain I started looking for a better way wich led me to 5 gal buckets,it was a little better but not as easy as I thought it would be,so now I have designed my own rdwc, res changes are simple keeping my nute solution cool is no longer a problem and it cut down my time it took to take care of these things in 1/2 or less.I think the best bible is your own,you learn from your mistakes and get better as time goes by,knowing how to read your plants is the most important thing, maintaining proper ph and ppm levels is the very first thing to learn, its fixing problems that arise that you have no clue to what it could be is the chalenge and you can get lots of help here but learning on your own is best,I have gotten some bad advice from some who talk more than they grow.I have a check list that I made up myself and pass that info on to a few buddys that are now growing dwc after seeing my grows. its a bit late and im alot stoned so maybe I will post it up tomorrow

Don't sweat maintaining the perfect pH level so much. Plants uptake nutrients at all pH levels so small fluctuations shouldn't be a thing of concern.

Lets get THE TWO LAWS OF DWC! clear (as in how we like our water)
LAW 1: RES TEMPS MUST BE UNDER 69.8 DEG Fahrenheit!
LAW 2: YOUR RES MUST HAVE COMPLETE DARKNESS!

If you can hold your empty res up to the grow light wave you hand between the res and the light, look thru the inside of the res as you do this. If you can see your hands shadow waveing from the inside of the res you have work to do. Comlpete darkness!!
To the newbs, have fun!
To the pro's THANK YOU!!! Cutting my first grow ever today!!!! I've learned alot. Still learning.
DWC fo life!...and some aero tables are cool too!

I agree to disagree with this statement but not entirely because i have found this to be both true and false considering very many things such as setting up a new reservoir to the later stages of life as you get closer to agressive flowering and chop time. I have heard that plants can and will tolerate up to a five point swing ( And Newly Set-up Res in DWC can and will do this ) in PH and can say that is true in the early stages of life because i and most DWC growers have experienced this with little or no problems especially during a new res setup. A trick that i have learned to offset this NEW SET-UP of a res is too simply take some already PH stable water from an exhisting RES and/or wait a few days for a new res to to begin its own balance of PH before u place ur plants roots in it. Adding already PH stable water to the res will help it stableize much quicker and i would recommend this to any new grower or wait a few days. With that being said Id have to agree more with the this statement for any grower pro or not.. 5.8 and 5.9 are the "magic numbers" for the most nutrient uptake in hydro. Some ppl say don't sweat trying to keep it perfect. I want and keep mine at 5.8/5.9 at ALL times. I'm also fortunate to have a stable rez. With 5.7 - 6.0 being even more ideal. And 5.8/5.9 being on point. If u allow ur already established reservoirs to swing like quoted in the beginning of this post i guarantee ur plants will suffer later in life with deficiencies and nute lockouts especially during matureing and agressive flowering stage. It have heard it said that a 5.8 PH makes most nutrients being feed more readily available for ur plants to uptake. And can say that by applying this knowledge i have seen great results and finely tuned DWC grow systems. So id have to agree with FLO's post that i copied and pasted. A 5.8 PH is KEY in any DWC RES and should be maintained as closely as possibly. Doing this early helps ur res establish its own balance. And gives ur plants a chance to begin eating early in life to become healthy fat nuggies. Haha. Peace

will ph be a huge concern if im only doin a couple mothers? i plan on putting my clones in soil.
Yes a steady stable PH of 5.8 should b maintained at all times when growing DWC as pointed out in my earlier posts. Especially for ur mothers. U want ur cuts to have the best possible start rite? U will see that a mother maintained properly in a finely tuned DWC system will grow fast and produce plenty of cuts that pretty much root themselves and u can continue to feed ur cuts (1/3 of the moms feed during cut time i promise) during root growth as well. Im sure u can do this in any finely tuned hydro grow system tho. Ive also heard soil growers feeding there plants at 5.8 PH as well.

The guys @ the hydro shop told me between our city water and Technaflora BC Nutes not to waste my money on the Technaflora Ph ^/v kit.

since we are pin pointing numbers..i say 5.8 in veg & 6.1 in flowering for it to have the bes nutrient uptake for the growing life cycle it is in.

So you start a DWC Bible and so far we have a bullshit PH secret tip?
LOL V If you dont know now u know none of my threads ever made sence and most likey always turn into some type of bullshit chat thread or asking female growers to show us there boobs n stuff. Thanks for stopping by. Peace.
