hi all well i did the big transfer my 9 day old plant in soil into dwc half strength dutch master nutes watering 4 times a night i thought that was wise since young and fragile.i did the transplant by loosing up roots in warm water left nice tap root and side roots .i then lightly covered the roots with clay balls so the roots are 3/4 way down the pot.the plant wilted for a hr now the leaves are pointing upright more towards the light. does this mean survivle or will it take a few days for shock to kick in .

i transfered from 1000w hps basic cooling in soil to 2m high grown tent dwc 250 mh and hps bulbs fans installed light 12" from plant temp is 28oC

Needs pics and remember to never let your water temps get higher than 78!!! Thats super important or else your roots will turn brown and many problems will occur! DWC is the best yield for the space so good job!

ppm 560 ph 6.8 steady light is 9" above plant temps sit on 30. running 18/6

ran ph test again today staedy 6.8 ppm 560 .plant seems to be getting more bushy before it gets taller is this normal under these conditions?

On my very first DWC try the bushiness was a shocker to me as well. I had never seen such large fan leaves in person, they were massive. From my experience, it will be much more bushy (just larger in general) growing in hydro rather than soil.
Is 6.8 your PH? I try to follow the advice on these boards and keep my PH down in the 5.8 - 6.0 range, it's giving me great results so far.

If you don't have any PH down a great $1.00 quick fix is apple cider vinegar from the local super market. Not the best option but it will lower your PH for a few days at a time.

thankyou Kontraband i will get some today.it has slowly reduced itself from 7.4.it is tap water /bore water had 1000 hardness to start with down to 250. thats excellent to know that. i thought it may have beeen stunted from transplant but i had a look this morning .it is starting to grow up a little and the 5th set of leaves are growing there 3rd set of fins stem looks to be thickening slowly ,2 small nodes starting to growi just above the water leaves on each side.i had a look at the root system they come right up to seed ball and right down to nearly the bottom inch of the 5" pot 1" long roots off the plant all the way is this normal.

your tap water is 1000 ppm? It is impossible to say what is in your tap water unless you get an analysis so your plant could be using some and some things could be gassing off (like the chlorine for one...) Your ph needs to be around 5.8 for hydro. As your plants get bigger you will probably start to notice deficiencies as the plant isn't able to uptake enough nutes to grow due to ph lockout... it's like sucking a milkshake through a straw when your ph is off. Also the apple cider in your res is probably wreaking havoc, we do not use organics in DWC because it is too easy to trigger slime. Use a proper hydroponic salt based ph down and fertilizers for best results with DWC or you could end up in a fight trying to keep your res water from going sour. You may have no problems now, but keep that in mind as your plants get bigger and you start to see issues. Keeping the water cold and completely dark is key, as well as properly running a sterilizer like bleach, 29% h2o2, or zone OR beneficial microbes like Aquashield or Heisenberg tea.

hi all .everything is running sweet .i just had to change to my 1000w hps as i had issues with 250w mh . i put in my 1000w mh but i couldnt keep the heat down so i put the hps in and temps are 30 oC will this promote stretching now or will it stay fairly short and stocky due to lumens
