Cal mag should be owned by any grower. Same as ph up and down.
I didnt even think of mentioning those they are standard.
And any hydro shop not willing to give u advice isnt worth shopping at imo. If you tell him u grow consumable fruits n veg he should tell u anything. And a ppm meter is always recommended for guys running water as a medium.
A 2 second check is easier then waiting to see what happened and why.

I don't use cal/mag , I use hydro house and garden (liquid) in. A 50L res for 1 plant , top up every secondday and a complete change over each week hhavnt ever had deficentcy probs... deffantly not saying u shouldn't... I'm more wondering should I bother with the cal mag now or not *edit* yeh sorry just realized my additive has cal mag in it

You need an air pump in your res?

Read the opposite.
The roots need O2.....If you don't put a running air stone in the res.....you'll retard your growth.....you don't want stupid plants do you (English can be fun).

I know they have one in each bucket but in the 5 gallon res you're talking about?

Just confirming, I'd rather go out and get it now.
