Hello experienced and knowledgeable members of "Rollitup.org"!!!
Ive been working on a small theory that I hope will benefit our community and I need some constructive criticism from my fellow peers .....
(any senseless or idiodic responses will be simply reported and ignored)
Ive seen and heard of many people using "home made filteration systems."***
For example:
This is usually done by connecting "air ducting"(those pipe looking things made out of alluminum or plastic usually connected to your clothes dryer) to the "intake fan" (the fan that sucks air out of the grow area).
The "air ducting" is usually attached and sealed to the container (usually a "rubbermaid" or "tupperware" style container that can be easily air-sealed).
Various odour reducing items are added to the inside of the container. Such as: filters, odour control substances,odour rocks/pucks, charcoal/carbon fibers etc.
Also another piece of "air ducting" is attached and sealed to other end of the container to let the air inside the container get pushed to the exit point.
***The example used above is what I imply by a "home made filteration system"
Everyone knows that DWC systems (deep water culture) require an air pump. Now if one is running a DWC system, INSTEAD of placing your air pump wherever you normally would, YOU PLACE IT inside one the aforementioned "home made filteration systems".

WHY IS THIS BENEFICIAL?
-The DWC air pump that is placed inside the container will "suck" the majority if the odour into the DWC reservoir.
-This odour will be "filtered" or "absorbed" by the nutrient solution found in the DWC reservoir- instead of leaking outside where it is bound to get noticed.
-Whenever "intake fan" is turned off (during its timing cycle) the DWC air pump will be forced to suck in the fresh air from the exit source
-Air flow provided by the air pump will increase if pump is placed above the plants because gravity will assist in pushing the air towards the reservoir.
AREA FOR CRITICISM:
-If the air within the grow area contains potentially harmful airborne bacteria, this will be brought into the DWC reservoir and could potentially harm the roots ... Is this a factor worth considering?
-The air pump will be overworked when the "intake fan" is off, this inturn will cause an inefficieny in pumping air into the reservoir.... Is this theoretically possible?
