DWC, 5 gallon buckets

Hey,guys! Will start a DWC op soon. Found orange buckets at home depot for CHEAP! Will there be a problem with algae?

as long as your buckets are light proof then algae wont grow algae needs light and nutrients to grow

So, you think those will work? What I mean is, light won't penetrate the orange color?

well fill it upand put it under the light if its shines through cover it with aluminium tape to light proof it

I guess I should just go with the standard black buckets. The orange ones are about half the price. But, when you skimp on materials, you are asking for BIG TROUBLE. I just thought someone might have experience using colored buckets.
