DWC 20 plant sog question.

Hey guys whats up? My question is this. I have 28 clones in a bubble cloner as we speak. What i want to know is, is it ok for me to just put a timer on these and go to 12/12 right in this container. I will switch out the flouro and put it under a 400w hps. The tub is 7 gallons and i have 3 pumps, pumping air to 2 6" round airstones and 2 12" long airstones. I think its enough air, im just worried about will i have enough room for my root systems. I could cut the grow down, but i really want to leave it at 20, seeing as im only shooting for an 1/8 per plants. i only want 10"-12" plants. So any input or knowledge or anything, let me know. I would like to get them into flower asap. No veg at all. They have been rooted for about 5 days now. i would try it and see, if needed on a month or so get the next size bigger of that tub and just put your lid on it. I think you may run out of space in that container. My other concern would be once they start budding will the neoprene inserts hold them with out falling in or tipping over? Just seen the SOG part, no they shouldn't tip over. I have an areocloner I want to try this with. I was affraid they would fall in.

Hey wiseguy. Luckily, I do already have a bigger tub, that the lid will fit right on if need be. Its about two times the height of the other one. I already thought that might be an issue. I also thought about the inserts too. When i cut the holes for the inserts when i made it, i made them really tight. I mean they are a bitch to get in they are so tight. But im still afraid of what you said and they cant hold the weight. I dont want my plants over 12" anyway, so they arent going to be super heavy. Anyway, im just going to try it and see what happens. No pain, No gain right? Thanks man

Mine are healthy as can be in my aerocloner, it's when i transplant them they go to shit everytime. So i wanted to try and keep them in there and see how it goes. I'll figure out a way to support the weight.

1) root porn rules

2) yes. do it. flower in that container & move to a bigger tub if need be. i think, with another container as backup, you'll be fine.

3) you could build something free standing, & that fits over the entire container, out of 1/2 pvc & elbows for support on the cheapy cheap. maybe twist-tie to this "trellis" (versus scrog style) so that you can remove it easily when needed.

or, eventhough those net pots are small, you could do what i do when they root up like that : switch the collars for hydroton.

be fly. stay high.

Hey gudkarma whats up boss? I said fuck it and did it. but before i did, i changed my rez and moved it into a 11 gallon container. So as of today, I have 20, bueatiful lil ladies ready to grow there vaginas. What do u guys think about me doing a net? that would help the stability prob right? thats my biggest concern. Obviously not a problem now, but i know it will be down the road. Any good DIY screens anywhere? And how big do you make the squares if you do make a screen? Any input is awesome. Im a soil guy so im a virgin with the hydro. So thats why i come here. Peace and keep em blazin man....GL'09:joint:

Yes do a net but don't ScrOG them because you will have alot of crowding as it is. Just use it as support. And yes the 400w will do fine. Good luck!

Lookin nice !
Do you add anything (cloning solutuion, etc.) to your water when you place the clones in the tote ?
May have to try that one day.

Say Trichlone, what kind of dry yield do you get with 20 of these gals in SOG ?

And do you guys think the 400w will be enough for these 20 plants?
...you will get a maximum yield w/ your 400 doing this technique...IMO, when your bulb is positioned horiziontally, and your seeking optimal light intensity, the bulb will only penetrate your canopy approx 12" or maybe a little less with your 400. I would cram 16-20 ladies within a 3'x3' footprint w/ your 400...if your buds do not come out as large as expected, maybe lower the # of ladies, or even up it...you'll get it dialed in, and you'll be impressing yourself before too long.

...it's strain dependant really. I average 1 lb per light....last yielded 1 1/4 per light growing Trainwreck, 3/4 lb per light growing Bluecheese..... Under 600w HPS, aircooled, w/ co2 @ 1500ppm, temps 70-88f....

Whats up guys? I just got back from Home Depot and got some fitting and string so i can make a net for stability. This IS NOT a scrog net. It is purely for stability and thats all. I got the basic frame made out of 1" pvc and i made for legs out of 3/4. Its just what i had layin around so i used it. I just have to string it up when i get home tonight. But i got one class today at 12pm so i gotta get going,, so i figured i would throw these on real quick and put the others up tonight. So stop back for a finished product. How far do you usaully keep the net up for stability? 6 or so inches up the stalk?...Thanks and peace...GL'09:joint:

ganjaluva, what's good hommie?

looks like you got everything under control.

down with dwc myself, and a fan of hygrozyme, the only thing i'd add is: take into consideration rez changes.

if you screen these plants, how do you plan to maintain the rez?

or, do you even bother to do change outs?

oh and last night i took 8 of the clones out of this system and gave them to a buddy, that way this isnt so crowded and the plants have more room. I think 20 would have be a little to much. I think its ok now though. Thats all.Peace

Gudkharma, what up bro? Yeah i def do rez changes. I have a syphon so i just lift the lid a little and syphon all the water out into another tub. I cant really scrub so ill take all water out. refill it, drain again, refill and add nutes. Try to get as best a possible. But ill def be changin the rez and i think this will work out pretty good. We will see and ill def keep posting througout. Did you check out my soil grow. Its def coming along good. Check it out if a want.

i was gonna suggest you break off one clone, replace the collar in the net pot, and use it like (my girl's va-jay) an access hole.

but, you did even better.

very smart move, bro.
now, i'm betting you'll do quite lovely by creating some space on that lid.

i will check out your soil grow right now.

here's a couple shots of what i got crackin. have until october-ish so the flower pics are early stages.

got clones lined up like soldiers ready for battle & just bought an extra grow tent for the overflow.

i'm such a grow whore.

i rock soil & dwc (buckets & cloner) too.

maybe we're kindred spirits... or maybe we just REALLY like to grow the dank :joint:
