I would like to nominate Glen Coffee for this most prestigious award. He recently retired from the San Fransisco 49ers at the ripe old age of 23 to pursue his true life's calling as a man of God. I say good for him but he might want to take some of that NFL money and get some plates and insurance for his ride. I won't spoil the whole story. Yeah I saw that earlier (Being a 49er fan & keeping up on sports news) it was ridiculous. I mean, it's obvious this dude quit because he felt he could make more money in a different genre of work. That work probably included something along the lines of drugs. That is the most common reason for owning an automatic while carrying it in your car, traveling. Own it, that's fine, but carry it, why? That's telling me you feel as if you need protection for a particular reason, & like I said, in most cases, that reason is because your selling drugs. Sure, some would say you can make more doe in NFL, which is probably true, but let's not forget he was a backup to an already well established & liked back in F. Gore. Not to mention, sometimes drugs can score you more money then NFL players make. Especially depending on the customer base & drug of choice your pushing, or drug(s) of choice.

I'm sure he knows a shitload of people, therefore pushing isn't hard. Especially when most the customer base you know is like you, sort of rich or are rich, meaning they are probably buying Coke. The only thing that would even make me think twice that he wasn't pushing drugs is the fact he had no drugs on him. But, hell... he could of been picking up at the time? It just doesn't make sense that someone quits a multi-millionaire career to pursue a life of worship that pays zilch or significantly lower then an NFL position. Then, to be found with not just a gun, but an automatic gun, that tells me you lied about the "God" story in order to look "legit" in your NFL exit. Because no man that works for God needs an automatic weapon while traveling, because most of your friends or people you come in contact with are probably worshippers as well, so what business do they have attacking or killing you? It's not like his face is so famous that he needs personal protection from crazed fans or anything, I doubt he gets stopped on the streets & recognized often, he never reached that level of fame.

There is more to this story that only he knows. He left the NFL & used God as his excuse so fans would respect his decision, but we can see now, what his true intentions were.

It just seems strange that he left the league very early, not because he was injured but wanted to serve a higher calling. I think that's great if that's what he really wanted to do. Follow your heart I always say. The 2 things I find ironic are the fact that he played in the NFL and couldn't afford to pay for plates and insurance, and that he left the league to serve God and gets busted with an unregistered firearm in his ride. Maybe he should've just stuck to playing football.:sad:

He could afford it, I'm sure... but when your on drugs, you think your invincible. Can't be stopped for anything. Like I said, I think he "used" God as an excuse to leave NFL so fans would respect his decision to retire. The only "Lord" he was talking about was becoming a "Drug Lord".

I really liked him too, I always told my buds that he had huge potential in the future. Especially if Gore was to get hurt or he was traded to another team where he could start.
