Ducting ???

Quick question. I'm having to re-arrange my room due to size of plants. I have to raise the lights but it'll be super close to my 1000w HPS which gets pretty hot. The ducting runs right over top of the light. Before I had plenty of space between and no it's basically right on top. So my question is how safe is that. I use the same ducting you see in everyone's pics. Is it fire proof?? I mean people run ducting hooked up to there lights to cool down but I don't have That option right now. So basicly my quick ?? Is "is it safe?"

Just realized I didn't make a lot of sence. When I raised the lights it's very close to the ducting.

It my melt the ducting and/or set it afire. If any of it touches the bulb, it will shatter. HPS bulbs are not safe to use outside a fixture.

The bulbs in a hood. The ducting is right above the hood. But it's gets pretty hot to the touch on top the hood

Shouldn't get hot enough to start a fire then, if the hood is vented, but may melt the ducting. Can you route it around the hood?

My 600 in a gull-wing style never got very hot on top. I know 1K is hotter, but it (hood) shouldn't come close to catching anything on fire. Lots of people do a quick dry test by laying a bud on top of them. Put your hand on it, that should tell you. If you have any doubts at all, find a different way. But IMO you'll be fine.
