Dub's Power Shower of Organic Flowers

Just a few shots of the Space Bomb clones i took from the tops of the seedlings when they were initially cut back to two nodes at day 23. These two and Space Dawg #3 rooted fine, but i had to wait to take clones from under the manifold for Space Dawg #1 and #2 which i posted yesterday.

Going a slightly different route this time, i didnt cut back so many nodes on these clones when initially topping. I popped out the top when the clones were just established in their cups at the 4th node, and from the bottom I removed the fan leaves and branches from the first two nodes, since they were a bit beat up and yellowed some from cloning. I am seeing a faster, cleaner result from going this way rather than cutting the clone down so far.

Space Bomb #1 is all spread out getting the ML treatment VIA pipe cleaner currently. She is faster than # 2, and a bit lankier it seems.


Space Bomb # 2 is almost ready for ML, just waiting for the 2 tops to stretch out a bit more before bending them over. This pheno is less stretchy and more compact in structure than #1


I got my 30x loupe out and got down and in for some pistil action. See if you can spot the two little calyxes!


All the plants seem to be loving the guano and kelp they have been given. I am excited to flip these girls soon!

I'm about due for another update!

I had anothert interesting leaf deformity show up on Space Dawg #3. A conical shaped leaf. I have never seen anything like it and was curious if anyone else had run across something like this? I'm sure I'm probably not the first to discover such a thing. Growth seems to be quickening some on the seed plant and it is catching back up with the others actually.


I need to transplant to flowering pots soon, as they have to be pot bound in their little pots... Veg under floro is a bit slow going. TAX RETURN WHERE ARE YOUUUU...

Whats up nerds? Finally back on track again after jumping over the hills for a few supplies!

Finally picked up my bagged TGA base and super soil, some #5 pots (shorter and a little wider than 5 gallon buckets) and can't wait to get my girls transplanted and onto flower!

Space Bomb #1 This one had been the bigger of the 2 Space Bombs and has a stretchier, more lanky branch to it. I haven't gotten any real smell other than some skunky, kind of a wet dog smell on this one. Slight fruit tone, but nothing too pungent. We'll see how she progresses.



Space Bomb #2 is my favorite so far. The smell coming off this reminds me of a citrus rind, almost grapefruit. It seems to have a little bit more malleable branches that take well to the bending and super cropping. It has a lot of vigor also, as all 8 heads are beginning to stack up nodes.



Space Dawg #2 is beginning to take on a bulky stature as it's frame thickens up from the training it's received. I defoliated this one a bit as it was pretty stacked with fan leaves inside and down low. It needed a little more breath-ability throughout its branches, and helped keep it from crowding the other ladies so much.



Space Dawg #3 Has snapped out of it's runtish disposition and seemed to get with the program. I took a clone off of her today as i noticed a female preflower situated on a node of the first clone taken from this plant. I had left a single branch to take as a clone at a node on of the y's and it was trying hard to become the dominate head. It made a nice cutting, I hope it takes and will veg faster than it's sister clone.


So far I am fairly certain that I have 4 girls from 6 seeds. It's been interesting as i keep the lights at a 24 cycle... all the clones have shown sex, mothers have not. Kind of interesting considering they all get the same light schedule/treatment. I have never noticed that happening before, but I have also never vegged seed plants this long.

Mainlining has provided me the easiest method of prolonging a plant from outgrowing it's environment. I hope that I can achieve the same results as some of the rest of you out there!!

I should say however, that second round is going much faster from clone!! Should be flipping these ladies soon!

Alrighty... here we go again with another weekly update on my girls. I can officially call them all girls now!

I'm planning on flipping these girls in just a couple more weeks... FINALLY GOT MY TAX RETURN!! WHOOT.

Now it's time for the fun to really kick off, as I would rather be posting flowers than veg shots!

Hey thanks for the feedback nugs! After seeing your plants and a few others on here, there is a high standard to be set! I'm hyped on how everything is going so far.

The clone has taken to ML really well, and the growth is really catching up fast with the others! I'm confident that mainlining is something i will continue to benefit from in my garden, this is some of my best work to date.

you've probably already listed this in the thread, but i'm uh... over medicated on some AOS green pheno (1 to 2 hit quit shit right there), but when do you plan on up potting? I say this cause I uppotted much earlier on my aos clones, and based on the purple stems i'd say they were not too happy about it.

Sine - I am pretty surprised I haven't ran into any real problems yet in the little pots i am in now, but I know i am starting to run out room for roots. They have been in these pots for 51 days I believe. I am actually vegging under fluoro's and don't have real crazy fast growth. I am starting to have to water every day however.

Hopefully I will have everything ready for transplant in the next week... just waiting on my fan and filter to get here before i can turn on the HID.

Purple stems in my experience can be caused by several factors. Genetics, stress, deficiencies, or temperature can all play a role in purpling stems. Sometimes the purpling only happens on new growth... that's where i usually conclude it a nutrient deficiency. But sometimes the purpling runs the whole length of the stem, which may be a genetic trait. Hard to say without seeing for myself, ya know? Hope that helps answer your question! DUB

edit: if you look at the pics of my Space Dawg #3 you can see that they are running out of gas a bit, and top dressing with high N guano isn't helping anymore. This is leading me to believe that the root ball is consuming more nutrients than the medium can hold.

Just out of curiousity, can i get a mod to change the title of my thread to "Dub's Shower of Organic Flower Power"? I immediately regretted the wording i used for the title of this thread. It sounded good at the time... because i was on one... LOL. But it really makes no goddamn sense as it is. DUB

And the fun begins! I got my the rest of my gear in the mail today!!! I picked up a 400cfm Active Air fan from Hydrofarm, a 3 amp variac controller, a CAP Day/night Temp controller, a new Digilux MH with enhanced Red, and some panda film! Pics to follow!

Last things to pick up are some hose clamps, ducting, and a carbon filter.

Alright... so everything is up and running good. I am a little bit warm, sitting at 81 degrees... but i should be in good shape once i grab some ducting.

As far as the girls go, they don't seem to mind a little extra warmth. I transplanted into their flowering pots, 5 gal at 25% super soil. All pots got topped with the TGA base soil except the orange bucket in the middle, she got happy frog.

Just for reference, 1 bag of TGA base soil is enough mix to fill 4 5gal pots at 25% SuperSoil, with a bit to spare.

I gave up on rapid rooters and peat plugs, just added hassle and money. I went old school and filled Solo cups with moist TGA soil, and poked a hole for the stem to go into. I took my clones as normal... removing all but a couple nodes on top, and trimming the bigger fan leaves. I snipped the end at a 45 with scissors, dipped in some rooting gel and plugged it into the cup. I HAVE NEVER HAD A CLONE STAY SO PRISTINE, so easily done. Not a bit of yellowing and just plain simple. I get the bigger red cups to put dirt in, and use cheaper skinny clear cups as a humidity dome, they fit right inside. Just mist the inside of a clear solo cup every couple days to keep the humidity up! Now i don't have to worry about the rapid rooter drying out on the stem! (I am sure i am not the first to do this.)

awesomness I use 2" round black pots for my clones and put a glass pint canning jar or just zip lock bag on top as a dome but it gets top heavy, the clear cup rocks. I knew you were worth keeping my eye on. great job!

Well, the ladies are making their rebound from transplanting and bondage, although I feel the Space Bomb seed plants are having a tougher time. They just may need a few extra days to spread out in their new home. I know that i won't be using these smaller pots again, 1 gallon minimum from now on.

The SB #2 Clone is thriving, and she was in a 1 gallon milk jug that i lined with black plastic... I think she will catch the other two, if not surpass them. Her overall health is in a much better place, as she was ready to transplant and not entirely root bound.

The Space Dawg girls are looking awesome! I am very happy with how they are progressing.

I do think i will be able to flip to 12/12 within the week now, as wednesday will make a week from the transplant into the 5 gal pots. I'd like them to be at least 10 inches above soil line before the flip. So if it takes an extra week to make sure everything is good and healthy and at a good size, well that is just what it takes i guess. I know that my next run with these ladies will go a lot smoother, and hopefully i can narrow down phenotypes!

I'll be sure to take these out of the light and get some better shots next update, just a little strapped for time today.

Well, I got something to be excited about... i was eyeballing one of my clones of Space Bomb #1 and happened to faintly see some resin on the surface of the fans. Im still in veg, and the clones are only a few weeks old!! Hopefully it's indicative of things to come! DUB

I think i will be flipping these by friday... just want to make sure i have plant health in mind, and everyone is settled in for the long-haul!

Great grow jay. Too bad you were only under fluorescence at the beginning. You're killing it for what conditions you're in. Is the one in the orange pot topped for 16? Sub'd. I LST'd, topped for 2, and 1 cola my plants 1st and only grow. Just learned about main-lining and I know it's the way to go. Can't wait to be able to grow again.
