Drying question

Hi everyone, I’m guessing 2 more weeks before I harvest (but I’ll post photos and ask for expert opinions first). My question is do you hang dry in total darkness or is that nonsense?8F0D7491-DEB7-4314-B538-8C613CDC2B98.jpeg

Should I have a fan on indirect?
Indirect yes. Just have a bit a air moving around. You should just hardly see your hangers moving at all. Put small tags of paper on your hangers so you can see if you have any dead spots of air flow. But never point a fan directly on them... and as other have said, Sllllooow it down as much as possible 60/60rh is optimal for the first week, then you can slowly drop you RH down to 55% over the next week.

Plant is looking good, but you have a bit more than 2 weeks. I would say closer to 4-6 min. Keep the forum updated with progress pics on this thread and people will chime in. Those white pistils will eventually turn amber and recede into the bud. Then think about cutting one pistils recede. You will be amazed at the amount of growth if you do.

This is the hardest part of growing. You look at her everyday and cant wait to try her, but wait you must if want to enjoy her. Cheers mate!

Having done this a while, I don't think dark is necessary but definitely away from sunlight. I no longer hang but groom and cut buds to dry in a box top that I leave out in a dimlit room. There are times that I need to turn the buds over but it also forces me to look and see what is going on with it.
The last grow I had a terrible time with humidity so I put some up not as dry as I normally like. I discovered with a new method, vaping, that not quite dry may mean not joints but much better on the vape thing with the terpenes and just ripe THC really is enjoyable.

Vaping? Explain. I heard hang drying eliminates some terpenes

Not sure what you are asking. Vaping is heating the bud to the temp where the good stuff is atomized but most of the vegetable matter doesn't actually burn. What I was suggesting is that especially if where you are is very high humidity instead of trying to dry and cure to a dryness for rolling joints you can let the buds stay a little moist and then put them in the vaporizer. I found I got much more terpenes when I kept the temp low and got amazing flavors with slightly damp buds.
