Drying in a fridge

This might be a terrible idea so please tell me if it is. I need to harvest a plant that is ready and have no place to do it that won’t stink up the whole apartment. I do have an empty fridge that works perfectly. I’ve been doing temp and humidity checks and looks like I can keep it at a steady 60f and 40-50% RH. It’s dark and would keep the smells at bay. But the major downside is lack of air exchange.
Could that work? Or should I just stack it with beer and think of something else.

Need air exchange.

Crack your fridge, seal crack, blow air in at the bottom on low. Not directly on buds Leave small opening at top for air to travel out. Loosely cover openings from light if needed. . There's always a way! Lol. Low and slow. I use totes in front of a cooler.

As soon as you blow air in its going to blow smell out. Yes it's a bad idea considering, grab a tent and carbon filter fan kit, set on low and your good.

Maybe some don't have the money partner! Bad idea!! You can solve problems without spending alot of dough. Think out of the box and not just open your wallet you would be surprised. But this is probably a bad idea. Don't talk that way to any one your not helping!!!

You can't avoid smell without a carbon filter. It's not money it's just life.

Unless you want the fridge to have a very very long after smell of marijuana, I would not recommend it at all plus the humidity factor of the fridge and as mentioned the lack of airflow and proper ventilation would easily cause mold.

Make one, it's easy. Seal fan at bottom, low flow just enough to go thru filters. Depending on smell add filter if needed. Increase fan just enough for movement. Very easy. I'm 66 years old and have had to grow in every kind of way you can think of. I made due and always found away to hide the smell. Go spend your money and don't tell people to spend there's instead of teaching them something. Have a good day at walmart.

wrong dickhead -whos the fool , pretty bald statement, dont know many growers using scrubbers when drying, but easy to fling abuse when something does not fit your narrative -

some people tried it and swear on fridge drying.
important is that its a auto defrosting fridge, to keep the RH low.
maybe ask google, you prob find some threads.

I’ve seen the low and slow dry/cure done with other growers on the 420mag forums with great success. They did them in mini fridge with racks stacked separating the buds into 3 layers per shelf. Lots of info to read here

How is a sealed fridge going to dry buds! If anything it will cause mold or problems.

Now someone mentioned to keep the fridge open to allow airflow, I pointed out that will make the place smell and defeat the purpose of trying not to make his place stink of bud and you would need a carbon filter at that point.

I'll give you time to read the main points of the thread to check that's correct!

Now explain how I dry with no smell without using carbon as the whole hobby is based around these small filters to eliminate smell and we would all love a cheap alternative and must have missed something if you have a better idea.

I was super skeptical too, but the fridge method can be done. There is a fairly detailed thread on another forum, but I can't think of it off the top. @Bubby'sndalab got a link?

You know one now. I’d say most of us that have tents with carbon filters use them for drying. Temperature, rh and air flow easily controlled and eliminates odors.

I have a giant carbon scrubber in my drying room. It gives a nice airflow as well as dampening my paranoia.

S’matter jackarse? Did you run out of skitzoid pills or quit taking them again. SucksMEN is acting up again too.
