what about hanging the plants to dry AND cure?

water as normal before harvest, cut and hang to dry and then keep on with this til the buds stems snapp (hanging for 2-4 weeks maybe) and then just bag them. Done?

Light degrades THC, plants should be dried in the dark, targeting around 60% humidity, 70-75F, with lots of air movement to prevent mold. Hanging the whole plant is pretty common practice but it should be done in the dark and as slow as possible, 7-10 days is good if you can manage it.

Drying and curing are 2 completely different things/methods. No matter what you do, if you don't cure them properly, they'll probably taste harsh. You could look into freezer curing them if you don't want to burp them. I've never done it myself but there are some folks who swear it's just as good. Basically dry them, then throw them in the freezer for about 30 days, apparently it cures them.

plants will be hanged up in the shadow outside (guerilla growing)...... the thinking is that if drying the plants long time they will at some Point be cured, why not

You can try it but my son has done that, he's usually waiting for the money from it and trying to get it bagged asap, it's ok, but just ok, no taste and rough going down, nothing like properly cured weed imo. There are no shortcuts to properly cured weed other than maybe that freezing method I mentioned, some are doing it with boveda packs, but still takes some time, I tried that and went back to burping for 2-3 weeks.

No matter how you dry/cure cut off the fan leaves before starting the process- it is much easier than removing after the fact. I dry my plants inside in the laundry closet in my basement- they are usually dry in 4-5 days, then I cure for up to a month, burping the storage containers daily or every other day.

I don't know your set up in Gambia but, if you have no dark closet or room to dry the plants, find the shadiest/darkest place outside like in a heavily wooded area.

yea I will take off the fanleaves at harvest (guess most of the water is in the stems anyway).........anyway, I dont get really the thing with burping......its still just about drying the buds, isn´t it? Anyway, after a week or two (or 3) of drying it may be correct to just bag it and into the frezer

Gambia ..? they will be stolen ...lol even in Gambia it gets wet, you get wet, you get mold, hang them indoors in a dry place, until the stem snaps with a loud crack,
...or look to doing a water cure, which is an easier option ...google for more

Yes mold is an issue. Morning moisture could ruin it. It would be safer in a brown paper bag until dry

there is an rainseasson and thats wet, otherwise its dry............ there is no inside to use for drying......... all of it has to be done outside

A small camping tent properly camouflaged with a black or green tarp over it to block out light better.

When curing in a closed container, burping lets out the moisture so they can continue to dry. Otherwise you get wet covers and water don`t leave.

No, the Relative Humidity outside don`t matter when they are in a closed container. The water in the plant needs to leave.

I am a newbie. For curing: after drying ... I am going to use Rubbermaid new garbage cans.... dark and easily opened...plant standing up on dried stems, then trimming....

was talking about the drying outside (hoping to cure them drying outside).....but if the humidity may be too high (which may leave 20% moist in the bud,,,,,,,,hm, is that really true?).....then I guess I have to burp them (if I need them any drier)

Ventilation while drying in the dark. I don't dry till the stem snaps though, I don't like completely dried out weed.

It depends on your climate and weather at the time of harvest. I do hang dry some of my buds outdoors IF the weather permits. Most years its too rainy and cold around here but I get lucky some years. If I get a dry window at harvest, i will hang them outside in a dark and well ventilated area for a day or two before bringing them in to trim and finish drying on silk screens.

I'm not quite sure why you wouldn't want to dry then cure in containers or jars, why let it hang for a month?

well, its all about drying da buds............... hanging in shadow drying seems then to be the right thing.........
