would it be better to dry out the trimmings before i cook them into the butter? or does it make no difference if i just cook them right after i chop it?

drying and decarbing are pretty much the same thing... drying allows the plant to get to a smokeable state so the flavor is smothe and not harsh... Decarbing is increasing the thc the cbd and cbns + more..

it does matter to the taste and potency.... but if you are in a pinch or want to test a small bit to see what works best for you..

I use mine green, fresh/frozen. Sugar leaves and popcorn buds right in the freezer until I'm ready to make hash, butter, tinctures or whatever. I think most people do use green but some like to use it dry. It really is a preference.

it does answer the question... COOKING or decarbing the pot RAISES the levels of THC and CBD and CBN

therefore if you want to raise the levels then cook it..
otherwise... fresh crap will taste like fresh crap...

cooking or decarbinbg it... makes it more of a nutty taste.

google decarboxylization

making butter, it doesnt really matter. cuz you are just melting the thc off the buds. but for making a cold temp extraction for hash then you definitely want to use dried, then frozen bud so you can collect more brittle trichomes.

ok glad you understand it... the question is...... why would you use fresh over dry or decarbed greens? If its just a matter of convience I get it.. if it's for a patient then your not giving them the full bennies of the green

Dry it. The idea is to grind it up as fine as possible so there is as much surface area as possible touching the butter.
