I just harvested 1 medium plant. Say I want to make dry ice kief so I can store it for a longer time and also make edibles.. Do I need to dry and cure? Or, just chop it all up leaf, stem, and bud and go for it? If it will be a few days until I get the tools should I freeze the material?

I don't think you need to. I've Hurd that it works better if you don't
but idk if that's just preference

FYI - it's kif, pronounced as "keef". BigSteve.

Actually your both right.

All 3 are transliterated.

Kief (from Arabic تكيف (kayf), meaning "well-being, pleasure"[1]), sometimes transliterated as keef or kif, refers to the resin glands (or trichomes) ofcannabis that may accumulate in containers or be sifted from loose dry cannabis flower with a mesh screen orsieve. Kief contains a much higher concentration of psychoactive cannabinoids, such as THC, than that of the cannabis flowers from which it is derived. Traditionally, kief has been pressed into cakes of hashish for convenience in storage, but can bevaporized or smoked in either form.[2]

I can't smoke, so I medicate through edibles so I would love to know as well. I freeze my trim and throw in, but I've always dried the bud.... Would be great to just cut it up and not worry about drying it.

It makes sense that you wouldn't have to since you don't need to worry about flavor or having it burn nice.

you could smoke without smoking using a vaporizer, its the route most people with lung conditions take when they dont have to time to wait for their medicine to kick in from eating. matter of minutes with vapor almost 30 minutes when eaten. also ive seen some great vids on dry ice bubble hash on youtube, suppose to work much better than the ice and water method

Kif has been around for ages. In the '60's-'70's we called it trash hash. Because that is what it is. It's a rougher, less potent form of hash made with greener leaves. First thing you notice is that it feels sandy.

Dry it out before you make keef. My buddy and me make it with dry ice and get the best results when the plant material is bone dry. Dry ice yeilds 3x as much crystal as the water and ice bubble metheod which is messy as hell. We have done it a few times with fresh plant material, and it works, just much less crystal.
