I found this list of just a few (40ish) of the drug war victims that have died due to police stupidity.

These stories have had numerous effects on me (sick, angry, sad, etc)

Even non-smokers should realize that the war on drugs is getting us nowhere fast.

That really makes you think. What if they raided my place and shot me down =/

To kill once. stupidity, maybe. to kill twice? coincidence. Three times looks like carelessness. anything over that looks like a shoot to kill policy.

How is anyone supposed to know that cops aren't crooks when they hear someone busting in with a no-knock warrent?

The simple fact is some people are going to shoot first. Then you're on deathrow for killing a cop.

This country is seriously fucked.

i dont know if that was in the 40 but how about this a girl turned her mom in using what she found out in D.A.R.E. now she will be in foster care, but hey atleast one more drug dealer is off the streets....

What a shame. My hearts go out to the victums. We need change and we need it now!!!

That's insane, I believe in people being arrested for drug related crimes such as a murder or robbery or what not but when you aren't hurting anyone it's just not right.

Why not spend 10 billion a year arresting fat people, I dont like looking at them (not really, just a point), or gays, or any lifestyle not all agree with and doesn't hurt someone per se .

I see chronic sales as free trade. The govt wants to control what you can make, why not make your own wages tax free.

Victimless crimes don't make sense to me, or being punished for. Like I said, I'd be ok with someone going to jail with drug RELATED crimes that have victims such as a murder, robbery or a stillborn baby from drug usage, but we spend enough money as it is that could go to better places.

This Is Messed Up. This Gets Me Thinking

Totally pisses me off. Each of these cases should have been rallied around by all those that oppose this stupid "war on drugs".

THe U.S. war on drugs is like a war on boners. You wake up everymorning and another- one has taken it's place. THe Gov. would rather make money selling guns to kill people than something that makes people happy. Boooooooooooo GOV.

One of the victims on the list 'Derek Hale' has a news story that I just read into here.Derek Hale

Basically the 12 officers on the scene had no identifying info on them/never said they were cops, didn't give him a chance to cooperate, ignored pleas from witnesses to stop, tazered him 3 times, shot him 3 times, built a coverup around the incident including planting items on his corpse and all signing a statement saying he provoked them, and lied to the public about his involvement in a drug ring.

If anyone should die in this drug war its the cops. Arm yourselves accordingly...
